I'm at my parents' - they're out for the night - they go to a dinner party and stay with the same friends every year so they don't have to drive. And I'm happy to be alone, flipping the channels, have a boozy hot chocolate by myself and eating a couple of leftover shortbread.

Anyway... caught 30 seconds of "New Years Rockin Eve" on ABC - the host was vacuous! She was shouting, "OMG it's 2020 this is amazing! So many things happened in 2019 - I dyed my hair, my eyebrows are thicker, my nails are looking good and I feel like 2020 is just going to be amazing and I'm super excited!" :ROFLMAO: It wasn't an SNL skit (wrong network) or any comedy skit - that was the best she could spontaneously come up with! ???

Are you kidding me?! LOL (I'm guessing she's in her late 20s. I didn't catch her name.)

I can remember a few NYE's back wondering why anyone in their right minds would let Jenny McCarthy loose with a microphone and a camera. That sort of sounds like the kind of drivel she was spouting that night. A few minutes of that, and I heard more than enough, an old movie was on another channel.

Happy New Year Wonderfriends. I'm off to make a vegetarian lasagna now. Just walked my dog, and met other dogwalkers who didn't seem hung over. My beverage of choice last night was Hire's Root Beer, and I was asleep long before 12. Today, I celebrate with a meal with family. Wishing all of you happiness in the day and the year.

I looked her name up. This year it was Lucy Hale, from the show "Pretty Little Liars".
