I travelled as part of my career .. sometimes many hours a day behind the wheel .... now a 2 hour drive tires me out and my bones tend to go to cement!

Tell me about it. I used to drive a lot for work when I started this job but now I have staff doing most of that and I'm so glad. Mercifully, back in those days, we weren't as widespread as we are now. Furthest I had to drive was Huntsville. Now we are in Sudbury, Ottawa, and Kingston, all further than that.

Ahhh .... driving & road trips .... I just posted this to Last Post thread - hope it's okay to copy it over here - and yes - those stiff muscles - I'm wondering a bit how we'll do with that! Frequent stops & walks & stretches ...

We're getting organized & packed today - leaving on a road trip to Nova Scotia tomorrow. Plan to meet some WC2 friends along the way :) It's 'meeting old friends for the first time' - which is a fun thing to do. We had such a good time a few years ago with Naman & Crazyheart in SK; and with a much larger group at Five Oaks picnic (thanks @Pinga for organizing) to honour Pilgrims Progress, and long before that meeting a couple of people in BC ... now we'll add a few more to the list!

A short 3 day trip for me starts tomorrow. 2.5 hour drive for a quilt course, over night there and off a an Exhibition and Fair, then back 1.5 hours and help my son move Fri and back home Sat. Then back to work Tues.

It will be worth it in the end Red. Be ruthless. Donate, discard, etc. Minimize the amount of stuff you're storing, unless you plan to go back to a larger house.

Good luck to you.

Started cleaning Little M's new place last night. Bought a bunch of furniture at the Ikea in Nepean. Biggest retail store I have ever set foot in. And, yes, the meatballs are delicious.
Love those Ikea meatballs! And so inexpensive to eat there! LOL

I just did a little lifting (turning over table, removing bedframe from bed etc. and packed the washroom. At 28 he is well able to do his own cleaning!
I drove him to the new place, unloaded the bed I had brought, we went for lunch and I dropped him off at the truck rental place. He had 6 friends who did move the furniture and boxes, and totes in the rental truck.

Good morning everyone. I've brought out the beverage cart. The coffee is hot and flavourful, the tea steeped. There is hot water and a variety of teas available for those who don't want black tea. Of course there is a selection of nice teapots and knitted cozies to add to the experience.

Happy Tuesday everyone. All the best to those off to work or school today.

Work???????

It is enough trouble and care to just get through life ... considering the assistance we get from high handed polity! I settle for the interim ... waiting!

I'm with you Luce. No work for me here. :) My big event today is a follow-up MRI. Whoopee. My life is interesting. :coffee:

As an uncertified Process Engineer I found a fluid life interesting and more apt to learning ... given the hard spots to be encountered (resembling the stone of scone that many believe to be so much blarney).

Biochemistry was particularly interesting when connecting proteins, acrylates, DNA and RNA with prions ...there is so much uncertainty that irritates authorities ... when you tell them about something they never experienced from their protected academic view.

I got booted out of secondary education for asking difficult questions. Not physically but by attributes unseen! I had a lot of hydrological experience before getting into the courses. Hippo ta Muses ... and yet "hippo" was the name put on a particular steam engine!

In career I earned a respected position in one old establishment (albeit a threat to many positions) when I solved some long term situations. When the company was sold for prophet ... much old stuff was trashed for efficiency. The next step determined no knowledge of that sort was required whatsoever ... only marketing power ... thus the termination ... of much needed intelligence.

Thus I waste away ... pleased by what I attempted in failure and knowing this is no place for me ... thus we pass or go ... do not collect $200 ... be jailed out there ... at least until the coming collapse ...

It may be literature and a just, non-sensuary enigma ... in which one may expect to encounter hang-up like Jude and IOsus ... in lighter floats!

Filmy noire in the valence ... intelligence is an up and down situation .. like Jesus in a storm of Arch Jean! (or Jean of Arc as you wish as the ephemeral nature of Jacked up ... a laddered condition!) All things are questionable and curious!

MRI's require application of much unseen power ... we just can't see it in natural form of focussed electromagnetic functions ... that can stimulate neural tissues ... exterior muses creeping in?

Sunday, my old guy (whatever his title his/was) lost his father. He was 90, so a good long life; end of life a bit stressful though; he ended up with pancreatic cancer and was declining quickly at the same time as his frail wife was being moved into a retirement residence. Apparently the sister still has it under control. Think of them fondly. Old guy has completely retreated from talking about dialysis and renal diet (he came through my lane today; two boxes of fudgesicles, chocolate being a large "no"); *sigh* I continue to try to advise a little.

Cat had a vet appointment today and by that occasion I asked him about allergies in dogs. Grand- dogs skin is terrible right now. He said that rag weed is really bad right now and dogs can be allergic to it- who would have known. Have to tell Junior about it. He also gave me some advice about medication for it- no extra charge. I really like that vet.

Then of course I met Mr. and Mrs.Carolla for supper at a crepe place. Delicious meal , we ended at my place for a piece of Black Forrest cake and a “ meet the cat”. You guys who are living in Ontario are so fortunate that you could have more occasions to meet other WCers. Really lovely.

Good morning! The beverage cart is well supplied and ready to provide for your warm beverage needs. There may be some left over Black Forest cake, for those who get here quickly....

Black Forests are for those hamming it up as in bete noire!

Allows for funny connections ... foreign intelligence? Tis really off fun cTion ... fun zion in other linguistic tradition that just won't terminate as the myths go on ... potent light can cause ions ... like blind shots! Processes in synaptic orders ... stimulating! Some relaxation is advised ...

Leads to drippy words in the wash ... and emotional instants in the ocean s urge ... sometimes any word can set it off ...
