Nice sunny day here! My mate left for a fishing trip to a remote lodge in northern Ontario - hoping his group will also have a sunny few days!

I went over to the school after lunch, figuring the kids would be inside & I could spend some quiet time in the garden space figuring out how to utilize it and doing some of the extensive weeding that needs attention. To my surprise, the whole school was outdoors!! Turned out it's Jump Rope for Heart Day - so activity was the name of the game today!! The garden plot was uninhabited tho - so I do do some work, pausing to chat with the many kids who came by wanting to help. Eventually a teacher brought 2 kids in to 'help' - so we had some fun conversation - and we discovered a small lettuce plant growing! But it was also good to see the space in the sunshine, get a sense of where to plant etc. Should be fun!
 
Sounds like a good idea to have a garden on the school grounds. A couple of my grands were lucky enough to have that too. Their schools were far better than those attended by my other grands. They had the garden, art, band, French immersion etc.. It certainly shows in their 'roundedness' now five of the grands are all grown. I hope you enjoy your garden time.
 
Thank you for the coffee! To my surprise I have awakened early both yesterday and today! At least it is a lovely morning - sun in shining in the garden, birds at the feeder, the neighbourhood is quiet. The Sunday paper has become smaller and smaller tho - doesn't take too long to read these days. Have a good day all.
 
Sorry to hear of the death of your friend Kay - sending a virtual prayer shawl your way for comfort as you remember this person's place in your life.
 
I have a sick tree in the backyard, a middle-aged maple. Arborist came today to look at it; we're going to re-examine sitch in two weeks when it's half-leaved. He's wondering about damage from the chlorine pool next door. Thinking about pruning out the dead stuff and seeing how it comes along.
 
I have a mess. While the front loading washer was spinning the detergent fell off-and it's the big bottle-and small cap fell off and it spilt. Just a mess no real damage done.
 
A bit of a waste of detergent, though.
As long as no one got hurt and it was fairly straightforward to clean up, all will be well.
 
Oooph - just came home from my friend's place! My mate is away on his big fishing trip, so they invited me over for a burger & game(s!) of Mexican train - lots of fun. Got there before the rain started, and it finished up before I walked home. It's nice to have neighbourhood friends just a block away - no need to say no to the wine because of needing to drive! Played 2 games of Mex Train (it's a dominoes based game) then watched the end & overtime of the Raptors game - wow- another amazing finish!! Go Raps!! I hear lots of fireworks in the neighbourhood. How's your evening?

Must be the dark Deis ... a clouded variety for all we know of infinite items of interest ... detracted for lack of compassion as all the passions were used up in contrariness about love of knowledge ... as a temptress tree. All reverse psychology as they won;t learn anything without a turn in reciprocation ... in lack of ineffable powers ... something will blo' through itall! Sacral sharpness ... that secret point ... said to be all over and without bounds ... rabi tole!

Did you know the rabbit differs from the hare based only on hair alone? The naked one needs attention ... wry?
 
Thank you for acknowledging the loss of my friend. The memorial time went very well - quiet - laid back - unpretentious - just as she was in life. A Come and Go event during the normal time for church services maybe cutdown on the numbers. A family member pointed out that those who wanted to show up skipped church, or come right after. They also recognised that a lot of people did their grieving when she had to move into a Nursing Home and had basically no memory left. The family thought long and hard before settling on Sunday morning. It allowed driving time while avoiding the busier hours of the long weekend. None of the family live in this community any more.
