Very mild in our area today, though it is Dec 5. You know, I don't like that.

Winter (weather-wise) starts tonight if Environment Canada has it right. Dropping below 0 overnight and staying at or below 0 for the balance of the week and into next.

Morning all. Just restocked the tea and fired up the kettle for anyone so inclined. There's black, green, herbal and the best oolong in China (courtesy of my b-i-l).

It's raining, windy and mild in Ottawa. We may hit double digits today. The dullness is hard to take.

It's also my Dad's birthday - his fifth in heaven. I miss him most today and April 1st - his unofficial birthday (it's all fool's birthdays).

I like the early more awakenings (I got up at 4:30 - I normally have some quiet chores to do).

Not in St. John's. We have +5 temps predicted for both Thursday and Sunday. Our lowest low predicted for the week is tonight's -1.

Still very green here.

Fresh ground cinnamon sprinkled on top is a must for me, too. More so than the rum, though I do like that in my 'nog as well.

Mine must be dusted with freshly grated nutmeg (I like the really fresh ones my sister brings me from the Caribbean).

Not being a fan of eggnog, I usually find myself with a cup of apple cider with a little spiced rum. Mmmmm.

Mulled cider or wine would actually be my preference, too, in many cases. My best friend makes a killer 'nog and I haven't had any as good as his in eons (since the last time we attended one of his Christmas parties, I guess).

First eggnog of the season - thanks CH!! And yes ... I'll have a little dark rum in mine ... not going anywhere this evening

I too like a dark rum in my eggnog. A sprinkle of nutmeg. Ice cube or two and a cinnamon stick if you have one
