Crazy times
a) current work is going ok - running late so deadlines are an issue; hwoever, demand for the service is increasing as folks want on
b) volunteer work is complex due to times of transition , as always, most are about relationships, and communication failures
c) friends and family are busy, with lots going on, including a tornado taking 130 trees down at my sisters
d) business demand is increasing, so working on finding resources to fill the gaps.

Thankful for the sun, the warmth.
Sat outside on a call yesterday and had birds flying by, a gentle breeze, just a lovely day.
Thankful for the amazing caterer at Five Oaks. A group had bought lunch, and they offered me a sandwich. It was wonderful. Best beet salad that i have had in years. Had strawberries in it. yumm.
Thankful for people who have a can-do attitude.
Thankful for people who having received what they think is a slap in the face, are able to listen to the logic, and then work through to solution, and end with laughter.
Thankful for those who are passionate about what they do.
Thankful for my family, including my youngestson who offered to make a "full breakfast" this morning.

Cathedral in the wild ... some religions hunt the church in the wild woods ... where its Lain unnoticed by those hell bent on overcoming nature ...

Wordsworth wandering with ... allez? Thus they wend throe Aryan states ... some Y'in question about the wise men drift ... Omega's dogged ...

Bring on the long weekend. I have the gift of an empty house this weekend. That is extremely rare and I have sewing and quilting and netflix plans as well as a trailride (on horses) on Sunday.

You, too, eh? Mrs. M is still with her folks in China and Little M is camping out at the local conservation area after going to his high school prom tonight, so I'm on my own until probably Sunday afternoon when the boy gets home. Netflix (or wherever I can find the movies I want to watch) and maybe some writing are my plans right now. I do have to do some shopping, too. Unfortunately, one does need to eat even when alone.

So, what to eat. I haven't had to cook for one in eons. Usually if I'm on my own, it's a business trip and I'm either eating out or at conference events that provide food. Had a pizza lunch at work today and there's leftover but I really don't feel like more pizza having had 4 slices for lunch. Have to get some stuff at Costco. Maybe go there after work and get one of their oven-ready dinners. That should cover today and tomorrow and then Little M is back making it worth doing something more involved.

Mendalla - when 'home alone' I've been occasionally known to eat a bag of BBQ potato chips for lunch! The healthy kind of course!! Our local health food store has a 'meal deal' - I often pick that up & the generous portion makes two meals for me which is helpful - and healthy!! Hope you enjoy your time alone. It's something I relish as an occasional event.

And you too Tabitha! Happy sewing!!

We'll be staying home too - socializing locally; neighbours this evening for a social catch up over wine; coffee tomorrow with a friend to see her garden that she's been busy renovating; annual lobster feast with other nearby friends tomorrow evening (can't wait!); Sunday will likely be a recovery day!! A little gardening if weather permits, a little knitting, some movie watching, a few chores ... all in all should be lovely.

If you have a FarmBoy around, they have wonderful meals -- easy to find good and healthy or somewhat decadent. They have great soups.

@Tabitha - sounds good, so does yours @Carolla

I have heard of fireworks on Monday that I may pop out for.
I have to work on monday day -- US holiday is the week following, and I totally forgot to book it off.
I have the following monday off -- but filled up with appointments and business breakfast & busienss lunch -- though....I will be in missisauga. hmmm...

Just got back from a lovely time away, and I haven't got caught up yet. But, I wanted to sing the praises of the Tulip Festival in Ottawa. I love Ottawa, including the hockey team, and minus the politicians. :) Well, I guess the politicians are necessary, but I wouldn't have made the trip to see them. Tulips, on the other hand....worth the miles.

I am not sure if I would say that I love Ottawa, but it is definitely one of my favorite Canadian cities. Which is a good thing because I may be spending a lot more time there in the next four years. :D

LOL. Little M just came back from the prom to change before heading out for his weekend with his friends. He says they were about the only group there that was sober.

A sober student going to Ottawa?

That's almost enough to give one a sense of immersion in the stranger's IDe of life ...

In an emotional world that'd only be a stray thought ... alien drifter!

haha - thought maybe you were running for office!

That's good news Bette. May he arrive home safely and soon.
Good thing Netflix was one of my goals as that was all I accomplished last night!
