Adam and Eve had three named children - all boys
Noah and wife had three named children - all boys
Abraham and wives had seven children - all boys
Lot had two daughters
Isaac and Rebeccah had twin boys
Jacob and four wives had thirteen children - 12 boys, one girl
Moses had two boys
Aaron had four boys

Think about the implications.

Adam and Eve had three sons. Two of those sons would take wives (the second of the three being dead by the hand of the first-born son had no need for a wife.

Implications are two-fold
1) if Cain and Seth are marrying their own sisters if there are no other human beings around.
2) if Cain and Seth are not marrying their own sisters then there are other human beings around.

Admittedly this is only an issue for the most literal

After the second generation it becomes clear that there are other humans in the world and they contribute brides for the direct descendants of Adam and Eve.

The scriptural record is not a verbatim of everything that ever was. It is a history of God's specific interaction with the chosen people of God (namely the Jews and particularly the house of David). The only names that are really recorded are names that move that narrative along. Numbers being a bit of an outlier in that it includes census information.

And within that because of patriarchical perspective primarily the recording of sons, (typically first born sons at that).

According to “male idiot theory” (MIT) ? There are anecdotal data supporting MIT, but to date there has been no systematic analysis of sex differences in idiotic risk taking behaviour. There is however a paper that presents evidence in support of this hypothesis using data on idiotic behaviours demonstrated by winners of the Darwin Award.

I have reread this and you are right ... my knee-jerk interpretation was irrational. 'Be part of the solution, kid' was good advice ...
My point was that my grandson is walking around feeling 'guilty of being a jerk' because he was born a male ... he says that a lot of his friends feel the same way.

That's what some media outlets want. I see men marching with women, without women hating them. But the right-wing media mantra has been "Feminists are man-haters." It's bulls**t, but you can find examples of women who hate men. They will extrapolate these examples, because that's what they do. Anecdotes become data to their followers. Look at blackbelt, even just above this post. He eats this stuff up. A couple of examples of women who go too far becomes a condemnation of what the entire march stands for to a conservative blogger and her following. This is why it drives me nuts when people I otherwise agree with react in anger to, say, Trump. It becomes fodder for whataboutism, and easily-lead people become rabid, brainless cheerleaders because "libruls are worse".
