airclean, you appear to have read into some of what I have said (problem with Men, wtf?- only STUPID ones, and I'm not fond of stupid women, either) and read very little of what I actually say.
I am a cradle Christian. I am a long-time member of a local United Church, although I was brought up in the Lutheran Church and mothered by a Catholic. I have been their Chair of the Board; I'm currently the Team Leader of the Faith Formation and Christian Education Team., a member of the Nominating Team. In contrast with your 'theology', which I don't find very cohesive or well-thought out, I am pretty clear about my BS. I have non-theistic view of Divinity, I have a low-to-zero Christology, in that I believe that, IF there was a historical Jesus, which seems fairly likely, I consider his legacy to be that of what a Jew would call a Major Prophet. I do not believe in heaven or hell and consider discussion about such imaginary places as largely trivial wishful thinking. I run an Emerging Christianity study group once a week, attend a weekly lectio divina bible study, where I am known fondly as the Resident Heretic and the Eternal Devil's Advocate. I also go to church every Sunday, and am the organizer of the lay readers. I'm not unfamiliar with the Bible, both from a reading, and a studying, POV. I have, easily, half a dozen different translations generally fairly handy. I have said ALL of these things on various threads over the years. Here it is one place for your reference.
Now, I have been partly responsible for taking the Spirit-filled Seeler's thread completely adrift, so maybe a moderator should move the whole mess off the Reading the Bible thread and onto another called, "Who Thinks They Can Tell Who is Spirit-Filled?"...
