Pride is here!! What, if anything, are you doing??

It's Pride month once again, a celebration of diversity and equality focused on sexual orientation and gender identity. Many, probably most, communities will have events of some kind. London, Ontario, where I live, doesn't have theirs until July due to a very full Pride calendar in Southern Ontario, e.g. they don't want to conflict with Toronto Pride since many locals also participate there.

Do you get involved in Pride at all?

One thing I learned a few years ago now is that there are a host of Pride flags now, capturing the diversity of the community behind Pride. While the famous rainbow remains most common, the various communities under that rainbow have flags of their own. Here's a site capturing that diversity.

Just accept and don't make a fuss unless they need assistance ... usually they seem to be the best helpers. Heard that from even people that don't like them ...

Raised a girl who was a proper ally in school, spoke up and actively defended the rights of other students to be who they are in the face of bullies.

I used to have a Pride version of my ape avatar but I have a feeling it got lost when I revamped the base avatar to improve the quality. The graphics wiz who created it for Pride on one of my writing sites has vanished into the bits and bytes of cyberspace, too. I have GIMP (open source photo/image editing software similar to Photoshop) on my Linux laptop so might give it a whirl myself. I can visualize what is needed, just not that adept at the photo editing stuff beyond basics.

I am pondering what i can wear for pride . I have a pride pin, but feel a boa or something is required. Maybe a head band
