And any media that might ask a serious question at these Liberal events are being thrown out physically by police to ensure no truth leaves the room!

And one of them is pretty excited about invoking emergency powers… Code for removing your charter rights.

And polar visions about what is liberal and what's libertine end up in chaos ... eternally wandering the ultimate circle ... it is way out ... the further the slower it appears to crank ... an enigma of momentum ... the lighter is farther into the farce ide? Not sure what your comment has to do with the Ontario election other than confirming your dedication to living within your delusions.

Lots of lakes in Ontario?

And when I visited S Ontario, I didn't notice any difference between NYS and where I was

There was even a general store openly selling uncontrolled fireworks

Canada is WEIRD

The still unofficial results, but the official ones will likely be this or close to it (got these from Elections Ontario):

PC80 seats42.97% of votes cast
NDP27 seats18.55%
Liberals14 seats29.95%
Green2 seats4.83%
Independent1 seat1.08%

And then a slew of small parties that picked up varying amounts of votes but no seats. Here's a link to the Elections Ontario page if you want to see the full list. I didn't even know some of these parties still existed since they are kind of one-issue parties in a lot of cases.

So some change but not a lot. The Liberals are back to being an official party (12 is the threshold) but their leader Bonnie Crombie didn't get a seat. They are well ahead of the NDP in votes but are too diffuse to take advantage of it, it seems. The NDP hold on to official opposition but did lose a seat. And PCs lost three seats over 2022 but still hold a solid majority of both seats and votes. Haven't found out who that independent is but will look to see.

Here in London, we are once again an island of orange in a sea of blue. The NDP held the three main London ridings while the PCs took the surrounding ridings including Elgin-Middlesex-London, which includes a bit of the South end of the city.

To be honest, this was no surprise. Other than Crombie not getting a seat, it is pretty much as I expected. Turnout was low, 45.4% but, again, I'm not sure that was a surprise. Last election was in that ballpark as well.

Hoosht!

i still have to pinch myself when i see our lil wet coast commie pinko NDP is where it is today...what a journey

And wow, that is quite the gap between the Connies and and "orange is Great"

Been the story of our last three elections now. The Liberals kind of blew out after Kathleen Wynne, sending the centre, even some of the centre-left, scrambling to the PCs (and a few to the NDP). I was hoping for a Liberal comeback this time which have balanced things better but I guess people aren't ready yet. Getting the turnout up would probably help, too, since I suspect there's quite a few ex-Liberals still sitting on their hands post-Wynne. THough that's just a gut feeling, not something I've seen in polls.

How was your voting process? Is it all electronic now?
Nope, still the good old-fashioned way. Either go to a polling station on the day or at advanced polls or get a mail-in ballot. Elections Ontario still has concerns about the security of electronic voting systems and, frankly, I don't blame them. At least they use machine-readable ballots and scan them instead of hand-counting so actually tallying of the votes goes fairly quickly now.

The last time I voted Liberal was in 1989, but I did so this time hoping he would defeat the PC incumbent. Unfortunately the PC candidate had an even wider margin this time. Rural Ontario is solidly Conservative even though Ford is not much better than a thief. Time to get more active politically before the federal election. I wonder if Pierre is still eager to have an election.

jimkenney12,

how do you find people there in general? are they able to act across political lines? i do hope so :3

The poles would call these drifters ... phantoms!

Part of the empire construct ... empire IHC? ↔ goes both ways so you can study the back parts ... what follows ... consequences?
