We put up our on the 24th. A european tradition in my husbands famiily. When our kids were little we did it earlier

But now, we drive to our cottage on the 23 or 24, cut down a tree on the 24. Put it up, decorate it, have champaign and cheese. Listen to music

We decorate this one all in red gold white and silver and put real candles on it. We light them while we are sitting around on the 24. We relight then christmas morning and then they stay off. Little white lights fill the job then

That sounds really nice. I'd be scared to light real candles on the tree though! I know that once upon a time, before electric lights, it was quite common.

You have to pick the spots for the candles carefully and of course watch them

But it really adds a beautiful moment. You light them and sit and watch them.......

My outdoor lights are up and on. When I moved in here there were white lights on the eves. I did take them down and bought coloured led lights but it was not until today that they went up. I decided to forgo the ladder and put them on the railing of my wrap around porch. I did 2 strings and my hockey billets did the rest. I have them on a timer. The ones in the back are seen from the walking path beside the creek.

Tabitha, I was only at your house for a few (delightfilled) days but I'm pictureing it now lite up for Christmas.
Aren't boys nice to have around at times?? After Seelerson was gone I rented rooms to students for a few yeaars. Generally positive experiences - and so helpful, being talleer, stronger, and more energetic than me.
