Kimmio

just yesterday you decided that Greta was right and you agreed with her. That she was smarter than everyone else

today you are back to thinking this is a cold

its isn’t a cold. If it is not contained up to 70% of Canadians will get it and up to 4% will die

not counting all the other Canadians who will have heart attacks and strokes but there is no available ventilator so they will die too

by shutting down as much as possible we may contain the spread of this. Allowing people to continue to get sick but at a slower rate. So there will be enough resources to care for them

you waffle from panicking and bleaching your apartment to ridiculing the efforts governments are making

this could be a serious virus. If we are careful maybe it won’t be as bad as expected

People with other colds, and allergies and people feeling some symptoms, scared, and in accute mental health crisis, are probably overextending the health system now. Whereas if they had not just flipped the world sideways, there would be space, and different social conditions, to address this.

Don't smoke. FFS that's something that's about you and not others.
Oh I already know you think smokers lives are less valuable compared to yours and you dismiss how difficult addiction is.

I’m doing nicorrette. I’m addicted to that now. But my lungs having cp and having been a premie, are more vulnerable too. I did not even know that until not long ago..long after I became addicted.

F that. I am not. That is gaslighting. Moving the goalpost! Specifically moving it for your argument to work. I see what you just did there.

Who was the one against MAID for non terminal illness, and not letting people die or giving doctors the power to kill them because they are disabled but not close to death!? Who argued that socioeconomic made them more vulnerable? Who argued and argued that it was indeed a concern? Who argued that it was backwards, in light of suicide prevention initiatives, to extend MAID to mature minors and people with mental illness like depression?

f*** off with the inconvenienced lecture.

Whatever Kimmio. Clearly you are the virtuous one here. It is obvious that it is impossible to have a discussion with you as long as you see any disagreement as gaslighting. FFS. I'm done because I'll be moving from sarcasm to swearing soon. Oh heck since you're swearing......f*** off with your holier than though virtuousness.

You are right, with your cp you are at a greater risk. Perhaps. Keeping away from people. Working from home. Eating well. Avoiding your elderly parents. All things to help

but mainly, stop spreading nonsense about everyone panicking about a cold

You choose to start, that harms everyone around you. How is that not selfish?
If your lungs are so vulnerable then don't smoke! Again critical thinking skills, where are they?
Sheeple - go for what some other addicts think is cool.

“A pandemic is a pandemic, but the war should be on schedule.”

I was going to like your post then realized it is too nuanced to like. There are things that are likable and things that are not. Thanks though for your thoughts. Your post gave some constructive information to consider.

I feel like swearing at you...you have no idea. You are obviously in the centre of your own universe.

Please stop throwing out insults. They are not helping your cause. As long as you consider disagreement as gaslighting or selfish or being sheeple, there is no proper discussion. Please take a breath. Do not tell me to f*** off for saying this. I chose to respond this way rather than to report you for being insulting.

No, I don’t think I am allowed to tell you the truth.
What truth?
I have known my lungs were vulnerable all along, even if I didn't have asthma, I wouldn't have smoked.
I was stating the issues with the virus pretty early on and you go on about how it's a conspiracy theory to control people. Yet you freak out, taking odd cleaning steps inside your own place, where the risk of getting sick is small and you are not likely to spread things to others.
Instead of looking at the science and critically examining what experts are saying you listen to a child on this.

and so does the child;)

Never mind Chemgal. You can’t think more broadly than health obviously.

I share a kitchen and bathroom with someone, a university student, I really don’t know, who works in a restaurant and rides busy transit a few times per day. I don’t know when she’s here or not here most of the time, she is quiet. Our rooms are at opposite ends and mine is behind a corridor with an extra door. So, sometimes the place was just clean, then I go out to the kitchen an hour later and she’s been and gone, and left crumbs and spills on the counters or table, or water splashes and toothpaste crud, on the bathroom counter. She lives like i’m not here...but we are both using the same kitchen utensils, dish towels, both touching the toilet lid and door handles etc. We don’t talk. She says a few words and darts off...so there’s no getting on the same page. The good thing is she’s quiet and barely around. That’s the bad thing, though, too.

My job isn't health.
The volunteer stuff I do isn't health.
The food bank is less directly health.

Again a baseless accusation. You're really great at throwing those out.

and so does the child;)
That’s why I trust that child, who looks like she’s 12 but she’s 17 and smarter than most adults. I trust the sources she is trusting. If she looked older, more her age, you might not be calling her “the child”, but the “mature minor”. I trust if she sees something is going wrong, she will say so, and I will believe her then too.
