On a totally happier note, we just got home from Florida

so I checked my “game” camera I keep in the back woods

i “caught” a lot of deer browsing the woods, strolling around. Nibbling. Day by day, week by week. One big buck walked by once. A raccoon passed by and three times a group of three coyotes ran down the path

fun to see who lives in my woods when I am gone

i once again found black bear scat but never caught them on the camera

Well, it looks like Greta has also joined the calls to limit mass gatherings. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't want to be right or wrong (I'm following guidelines anyway) I just want this to be over with sooner not later.

Chancellor Angela Merkel held a really good, reasonable speech today, stating that this is the most extreme/ challenging time since WW2 and saying that ,because we are a democracy, she has an obligation to explain why those measures are taken and it is for sure that these are temporary measures. She called for solidarity of the people and as one who grew up in East Germany said that she knew how much personal freedom is worth, but under these extreme circumstances everyone has to get through it together for the sake of “ your loved ones”. She stresses that is up to each and every one to determine how many people are going to be dead at the end of this, if one does or doesn’t follow the precautions. It was a good 10-15 minute speech and she did really well with her typical reasonable way.

Nobody wants people to die from this (or anything else). Staying home, not going to restaurants, movies, concerts, fairs, parades, festivals, symphonies, plays, operas, games, community centres, birthday parties, commuting on trains and busses, church, weddings, funerals, family reunions, family vacations, beaches, schools, daycares, dances, political rallies, or working, won't hurt anybody...uh (unless it drags on and puts small businesses under and causes a social depression due to so much isolation ) so better to get it over with...

I'm mad that there are so many important concerns that need discussing (nobody is discussing anything else in the bigger picture of problems), and just aspects of living everyday life, and now they're all just on hold.

Let's get it done and over with.

maybe we need to do what they want, to get this f***ing ridiculous time over with faster so “they” will lift restrictions...IOW
"These measures will last in place as long as we feel that they need to last," Trudeau said, adding that Canada and the U.S. will closely coordinate.

I actually trust Greta's sensibilities. She's calling for people to follow the measures being taken so I'll listen to her.

Also, yes as soon as there's a viable vaccine available I am getting it. That is a hell of a lot better than going through this indefinitely. Think about it!

Greta is a little girl. And a parrot. You are listening to her handlers.
She knows no more about fixing the world than my neighbour’s kid fixing my transmission.

In Mexico City, tens of thousands of music fans rocked out to Guns and Roses at a festival at the weekend.
President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador also went on tour, hugging surging crowds of supporters and kissing babies.

The gamble is straightforward: Mexico's economy was stagnating even before the COVID-19 outbreak shuttered factories worldwide and the government has said it wants to limit economic damage by not over-reacting.

I respect Greta's opinion right now because she's smarter and wiser than most adults and she's been highly critical of adults, and their big businesses and governments. If she thinks these extreme measures are a good idea...I trust her.

It's the covid 19 Olympics, like I said. Which countries' reactions come out on top as the standard to reach or beat?

Still, I do not want people dying from this disease or any other. I know people who are quite vulnerable and I will follow the measures out of concern for them.

But if people start dying on masse, in the same or greater numbers, not directly related to this virus but because of the fallout and secondary effects that are inevitable, I will be thinking about that, too, and whether this was worth it. I hope our elected officials think about that, too.
