Dunno if this is good or bad for me. For an orphan drug like firazyr, this could lead to shortages fast if the investigations look promising. Long term, this could really lower the costs. I don't expect people to snatch it up, considering normal pharmacies do not carry it and it's $3100/syringe.

I have some thoughts about these reactions that would baffle those religiously against pseudoscience and homeopathy complementary to allelopathy!

So like one of my best friends I'll remain silent ... as the rule is knowledge is evil ... by gods! Let us retreat into the Magi garden ... like Ada'm and Eve! It is kind've a literary Pinch! Y'sguies? Spiritual intelligence bottled up ...

Don't tell me it's turmeric?:ROFLMAO::cool: (Anybody get the reference?)

Anyone find it weird that Netflix released the docuseries “Pandemic” on Jan 22, 2020, a month before anyone was really talking about “Coronavirus” in North America? It was filmed in 2019. My propaganda sniffer got triggered. I saw the title there for awhile and, until now, thought it was an older fictional movie, one of those ones from the late 90s early 2000s, like Contagion (and there were more like that). I thought, in that case, of course the timing of putting them front and centre on the menu was deliberate...but a non fiction docuseries filmed last year and released just before the virus was about to spread here and be declared a pandemic? Hmm.

Finally, the answer: Netflix made the movie and to sell it better it got the FBI to spread the virus in Wuhan.

The conspiracy goes on in a plot withing the tome Eri Ka ... there may be intercourse about sects and valance #'s ... some positive and some negative to make up aadam thingy! Accept chaos in certain areas of distinctive determination that nothing can be dynamic ...

Then nothing hits you --- my Grandfather Jacob! After that flat out dimensions and defined vert*gos for the rising spin ... taur a nadas ... quick sweeps!

There are definite uncertainties to be concerned about if you're the dirt at the end of the broom ... move!

Thing is, our government wasn't exactly stellar on that front, either. Better than the Trump administration (who still seem more worried about economics than people dying at times), but probably less than was possible or necessary.

There was plenty of warning and action could have been taken earlier instead of just making reassuring noises. Even Chinese-Canadians would have got behind an early travel ban from what my wife tells me. And stockpiling of medical equipment is something that multiple reports have recommended going back to the SARS days. The fact that Alberta did stockpile and is now able to supply other provinces is telling. Someone in Edmonton paid attention, at least.

oh I totally agree. There was a good CBC article outlining how Trudeau was behind the ball. And still not testing much so we really don’t know what is happening

They said over the weekend that wider spread testing would likely result in false positives. This didn't make any sense to me until I read an explanation today. Apparently people who have symptoms test more accurately than the asymptomatic.

This is the sort of thing that makes this disease so scary. (I confess I didn‘t understand the whole abstract, too technical.)

This is some perspective on the BC Ferries. I still think that's too many recreational travellers even though it's good that it's far fewer than a typical Easter weekend.

Half full ferries
Half-full is new full. But I have read a few articles saying we can’t go on like this or the economy will collapse. They suggest that only the vulnerable stay home. I don’t what to think. I understand the argument but it’s also a bit frightening.

That was awhile ago. Personally, I see this as a major crisis now - just one that Vancouver Island has mostly avoided. The crisis has been different in different places due to different circumstances. Plus, we were almost cut off from the mainland. We have only 35 active cases. 3 in icu. 2 deaths of elderly 80-90. The rest are recovering or have recovered - out of 83 total cases I think. Out of 774,000 population. We were doing well. I was hoping they'd ease restrictions for locals by now - but we may see a jump in cases in the next few weeks after this weekend. I hope not. As long as we cut off tourism for awhile it seemed we'd be ok. Now, we have to wait and see.
I understand completely how you feel. There are lots of people who won‘t visit us because the ferries are expensive and time consuming. We do seem to be in a bit of sanctuary. How long it lasts, I have no idea. Trying not to worry.

The uncertainty of this new virus makes it scary. We do know some factors that increase risk. ’m at risk due to age and being somewhat overweight. I’m working on the latter. That’s within my control. No excuses.

Being able to communicate with others seems to help. Exchanging funny vids encouraged.

In all the darkness of our world of ignorance ... carry a little humour ... in myth the only way to get to the stoned by emotional, brute power. In the opposite science without care has the same result ... thus Levanthan occasions ... be aware of proper monsters! Chimera? Lambeth, or just on the lam?

Apparently there has been much written and shows made about pandemics. I didn’t pay attention to it much. I knew theoretically it was possible but that was it.

I agree. It's complicated isn't it.

My husband saw an article yesterday that said the ferries were actually 90% full. He mentioned something about how walk-ons were not factored in properly. I suppose we'll learn more in the next while.
