Which has, unfortunately, been used as an excuse by some Christians to stick their heads in the sand where environmental and other issues are concerned. Not saying you hold that attitude, but what you say above is what they use to justify it.

Yes Mendalla, it's sad but true. We've treated the Earth like a machine, abusing it. I believe we're supposed to care for the Earth and the other residents who call it home.

And it's dubious as how adaptable we'll be to "radioactive wasteland" and "hotter than hell", two even more likely doomsday scenarios.

humanity will survive this by doing as we've always done, adapting (and that includes changing our environment), despite the minority of humanity that thinks that nature is untouchable and should be affected 0% -- which would definitely mean extinction of all of humanity :3

The earth fluctuates -- our climate, our weather, our everything (and, according to scientists like Pacific Northwester Peter Ward, Earth is very special & old -- her time of youthful exuberance with resultant diversity is in our past)

If humanity has to, we'll gene drive ourselves & our environment to be able to handle the increased temperature

(or maybe this particular challenge is one of the filters that Nick Bostrom writes aboot?)
