Finally got around to watching some of Molly's Game because it just dropped on Netflix. My ski club is the stunt double for Deer Valley Resort in Utah.

Here is a picture I took of the set back in January 2017:

I haven't watched the entire movie yet, but that's my damn hill they took up for a couple of weeks. I usually train gates on that hill.

We watched MudBound last night. Kinda depressing actually as it about the racism in Alabama. Also about the lack of opportunity for poor women with husbands who were less than ideal.

I've been watching a fair bit, some total trash. The Circle - thought it was a show similar to something else, like a show the covers a reality show. I didn't realize it was just a reality show until I started watching it and a really bad one at that. Yet I keep watching.
The Messiah was good.
I watched all of Virgin River, When Calls the Heart is similar, but is a period peace and has more hours to watch if looking for something like it.
Alias Grace is on Netflix, not comparable the the Handmaid's Tale, but it's good.
Spinning Out (skating show) was actually a bit deeper than I thought it would be.

I watched The Lovely Bones on Netflix finally this weekend and for some reason it had a profound effect on me.....found myself thinking about it long after watching it.
It was released in 2010, so not sure how I missed seeing it.

Bones are lovely as they support the meat of the story ... myth NDs there ... get real! Thus the illusional song and Dan's ... communal whetting ...

All sharpen up now ... thin edges are exposed ...

THE BIGGEST LITTLE FARM chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature. Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature's conflicts, the Chester’s unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and our wildest imagination. Featuring breathtaking cinematography, captivating animals, and an urgent message to heed Mother Nature’s call, THE BIGGEST LITTLE FARM provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.

Fenced in by unseen poles ... the pillars of mire stuff ... there's Moor ... but the flat out causes chaos!

Could be the warp age ... one around the corner, sundowner?

Enjoyed The Shoplifters......slow moving but I found it a beautiful and disturbing movie at the same time. Raises some interesting questions at the end. Japanese movie with subtitles.

“100 humans” - a serious of experiments with a variety of 100 humans to answer questions like “ which age group has the best memory”. It is not really scientific, but funny.

Memory as part of the soul-body (brain) connection is a mysterious process ... stated to be subliminal or even underground as I under stand upstanding ethics. They rise above the moral dimension ... another step into the dark unknown ...

I just finished watching "Unorthodox" and found it quite interesting
Its a limited series that tells the true story about a woman who leaves her marriage and the group of Hasidic Jews she was raised in. An interesting look into the beliefs and rituals that are demanded from them in order to belong.

I watched the Waco series. It's tells the story from a position that's sympathetic to Koresh and the Branch Dividians. In all fairness, he was creepy and weird - but that was no reason for the ATF and FBI to torture and massacre all those people, military style, including numerous children. I believe it could've been handled peacefully, without use of force.

But making Koresh into some sort of martyr/ hero of the story is problematic too.

I watched a lovely movie called Tigertail on the weekend. It has some subtitles and some spoken english along with mandarin chinese.
A poor young man wants to go to America to give his widowed mother a better life so he agrees to marry his boss' daughter whom he doesnt love because his boss will pay for the trip....but in doing so he leaves behind his true love. So sad.

Just watched The Healer last evening.

A sweet little movie with some moments of depth. Kind of a silly premise but hey! . . . it's a story.

*Davidians (Koresh renamed himself after King David) not Dividians

I added it to my list a little while ago and already had forgotten. Last few days I really haven't felt great though.

I looked through Kanopy to find some stuff. I have a lot of trash on Neflix which I enjoy but figured I could use a bit of balance.
I Am Not A Witch - enjoying that. A girl is accused of being a witch in Africa (not sure of the country) and how she ends up living as a witch - living in a witch camp plus being used by the government for her powers.

I watched "Becoming" a documentary about/and with Michelle Obama and thoroughly enjoyed it. Came away with a positive attitude change that is most welcome these days.
She seems to be a powerful influence with young people and others. And I really like how down to earth she is.
Highly recommend it.
