I made the mistake of watching Open House on Netflix when it first came out a couple of months ago......spare yourselves the pain.....worst movie EVER!

Watched "Victoria and Abdul" last night - based on the true relationship of Queen Victoria with her Indian servant Abdul. Really enjoyed it,
- lavish sets & lifestyle and beautiful landscapes, some comedy, and ample social commentary on colonialism and societal class. A few years ago we visited Osbourne House, her family home on Isle of Wight where much of this movie is filmed, so that re-visit was good too. Recommended viewing.

I recently watched one on netflix that even if I could remember the name, I would be too embarassed to have anyone know I actually watched the whole thing. There is quite a bit of garbage on netflix.

I suspect there's quite a bit of garbage on tv, as well, but only conjecture. I only watch CBC, because I don't have cable. Much of what is on CBC seems pretty good. On Netflix, there's a few good documentaries, a fair bit of nice BBC stuff, and yeah, a lot of crap, some of which I like, LOL. I'm almost embarrassed about my fondness for Shameless...

Thank you! I'd been waiting for a first-hand review!
It looks like there are 40 people ahead of me for a copy at the library.

I will second the good recommendation for "Victoria and Abdul". I very much enjoyed it; humanized a woman who is often portrayed as being somewhat formidable and unyielding.

I've heard good things about Grace & Frankie - haven't got around to watching any of it yet ... reminder to self!

I watched most of Season 1. Very good at least to the point I watched. Great performances from all of the main cast and quite well written.

It's amusing. Good sit-com. They're all still pretty good actors, despite advancing age. They try to tackle some "elder" topics...

True - both women actors that I like a lot. But I have to say, Jane Fonda was almost unrecognizable except for her voice when I saw her recently, I think on the Oscars, or maybe it was on the trailer for The Book Club. So much plastic surgery ...

Which is probably why she looks to be in her 60s while in her late 70s...it's what she is, in many ways. Don't you remember her almost bullying us to "get in shape" in the 90s...

Oh yes - Jane Fonda Jazz-ercise I think it was!! Leotards, headbands, leg warmers ... that's one movie I'm glad is OVER!!
