Meanwhile in Canada

That explains a lot.

See if one sticks to it one knows the gaps ... but just put on different labels ... for metaphorical value ...

The primal word is ineffable ... kind of a splat or blurb without concern or understanding ... gob, or gump? Leads to forest mysteries and bear's fruit with the unknowing participants as intoxicated with everything ...

Moderation is best unless done extremely ... that occurs too ...

Then some things cannot be explained or addressed ... maybe why such strange things as Psyche and Sophia stay buried and hidden as sacrosanct material ... sank? Maybe innate ...

And then life is tiresome in certain circumstances where folk are determined about BS. (akin to systemic theology) I found it to alter over time ... nothing sticks ...

Incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright

From: National Defence

News release

October 18, 2026 – Ottawa, Ontario – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

A fire ignited within the training area of Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Wainwright, Alberta, at approximately 4:00 p.m. (local time) on October 17, 2026. The fire spread rapidly beyond the boundaries of the training area, while military and civilian emergency services responded quickly to control that fire and to support those affected by this tragic event.

It is with profound sadness that the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) confirms the incident resulted in fatalities and injuries. As emergency responders continue their work and the situation continues to evolve, the full extent of the impact remains under assessment. Our immediate priority is supporting those affected and notifying next of kin. We will not confirm casualty or injury details until that process is complete.

The CAF is working closely with emergency services, local authorities, and other partners to support response efforts. The safety and security of CAF personnel, their families, and members of the surrounding community remain the highest priority. The Canadian Armed Forces will provide additional information as it becomes available.

How long before a nuclear accident? We have the power and are quickly losing thoughts ... if you observe the greatest of Gods ... they tend to be psychopathic, or even sociopathic as we do not wish to care for anyone ... god help us said that Christmas Character when Marley Passed ... hauling 3 essences ... guesses?

Romans 8:28's precious, God works all things together for good for those who love Him, even when the circumstances themselves are tragic. That gives us hope that suffering doesn't have the final word.

Today's a day for prayer. Compassion. Practical support for those who are hurting!

May the Lord draw near to the brokenhearted. Strengthen the emergency personnel. Grant comfort to every family facing unimaginable loss!

Lord, have mercy ❤️

Our friend whose husband is a fire fighter and other first responder roles for the base informed B that there were 7 deaths. The currently official count is 4. We lived in Wainwright for 8 years. Our daughter worked on the base the summer between grade 12 and university.

Thus connection of all the specter ... physical, psyche and essence ... sometime hard to differentiate ...

People can reasonably disagree about whether separation would be wise.

Canadian law allows a province to consider independence through constitutional process.

On the 10th question out of 1,892,307 Albertan votes actually cast:

Votes cast by Albertans in favor of remaining were 1,425,516 (76%).

Votes cast by Albertans in favor of keeping the road to independence open were 466,791 (24%).

So yesterday, Albertans that actually voted, by a wide margin, voted to remain as apart of Canada.

Also, Albertans that actually voted (by a slim majority not yet official), voted YES to (Eight of) the Nine.

Now what?

Rita, the 8 of 9 extra questions that carried would have largely affected immigrants. The one that did not pass? Possibly affected people's own health care.

So once again, don't jeopardize my health care, but don't let immigrants have it.

But mostly, this shuts up the seppies like yourself for a while, even the ones in Manitoba like you.

Now what?
A couple of those are within provincial jurisdiction so they can go ahead and do them.

Some of those require negotiation with the feds and other provinces so Smith will have to bring them to the table at a federal-provincial conference.

And some require constitutional amendments and many of us (which I assume includes you) saw how that went in the nineties with Meech and Charlottetown. i.e. Not holding my breath.

One half to two thirds of those that voted for a referundum do not want to seperate. They wanted to put pressure on the federal government to give into more demands by Alberta. Some of the nine were to support racism. All were to increase the power of the Alberta government. A general expectation now is that Smith will get turfed at their general meeting in November and the seperatists will split off to form their own party. The health care question was to get approval for increasing privatization of health care.

Man of us are disheartened (but not surprised) at the results of the 9 questions. 5 of which were racist dog whistles scapegoating immigrants for the failure of successive provincial governments to plan properly. Some of the ideas are likely to be challenged under the Charter if acted upon. All of them want us to completely ignore some basic facts about how the system works (immigrants -- both permanent residents and temporary-- pay taxes, rent, utilities etc like everyone else, they contribute as much to the economy as anyone else)

The 4 constituional questions were blatant power grabs and/or soft separatism as they treid to shift the balance of power and authority.

Honestly, though, if they go the soft nationalism route, they have a well-established precedent. We've let Quebec do it for decades. They decide their own immigration, they run their own tax system, and so on. They keep grabbing more and more power and the feds rarely seem to oppose them. I am surprised it has taken this long for another province to demand similar.

In a highly competitive world is the a consequence to giving in to the worries of competition?

Your bound to settle out as a supporter of the game and be hostile about picking sides for no reason if you do not believe in reason, logic and logos the God of logic being in the distance so you can be freely emotional ... passion play?

I don’t see how any of the 1st 9 questions could be construed as racist dog whistles.

More as a way to talk about sustainable numbers and how services get shared.

Immigrants that clearly contribute a lot and pay into the system are great.

At the same time, things like housing and capacity can still be a matter that needs more discussion.

Quebec already has more say over its immigration, so Alberta wanting something similar feels pretty reasonable to me.
