Will there be a Maundy Thursday service at your church? Will you attend?

We will have a service that includes both footwashing and communion.

Footwashing is only included in John's Gospel. The synoptics all describe Jesus breaking the bread at the Last Supper and instituting the Eucharist.

Any other thoughts about Maundy Thursday?

This year my church is having a "Last Supper" potluck.
I think that's a communion service integrated into a potluck supper.
So after dinner, we'd pass a piece of bread and a cup of juice, and have the appropriate readings and prayers.

I really appreciate a Maundy Thursday service - it sets the tone for the Easter weekend.
it helps me transition from my work world to a more spiritual place.

I have been to a couple of Maundy Thursday services but not for a few years now. We have never done the meal or the seder.

This year for a Lenten study, we did something very trendy: we watched season one of "The Chosen" and discussed it together.
I had never watched "The Chosen" before, and it's really good! It's a biography of Jesus told through the backstories of other characters from scripture,
with some modern subplots. It's on Netflix, and also on Angel TV which is free.

We do a Maundy Thursday service, offering footwashing and handwashing (the latter always preferred). It morphs into a free Seder dinner, with a traditional Passover Seder Haggadah (the menu is fairly traditional, but not kosher), then into an overnight vigil into Good Friday.

Just received the order of service for tonight. I think it will be solemn and very meaningful

Yep
I got to wash someone's foot
And get my foot washed
Very fun
The end was a downer, tho...the Officiant is a great guy and good with his voice and drama...and this time after the nekkidifying of the altar he put up a teeny cross wrapped in lavender cloth with a teeny crown of thorns...

I even found myself arguing with the last bit of the program

Jesus wasn't abandoned by his followers
Sheesh. Everything that happened, even Judas, HAD to happen lol
He even told them what was going to happen...sounds like Priming to me :3

Creates the myth aspect in the story so as to generate phobias toby overcome ...

What has more phobias; learning or loves? Love allows us not to know ... thus pro and re creation! If we knew would we curtail something? There's mores ...
