Jesus was just talking about the mouth speaking according to what is in the heart. But you are right about actions being more significant than words. What a person does reveals information about what the person is like inside. Actions confirm or contradict claims people make about themselves.
And the vast majority of humanity who are neither? Who live day to day and might do some good and some evil along the way? I mean, honestly, even the saints (MLK, Jr) and devils (Hitler, Stalin) of humanity aren't purely at one end or the other even if they incline more to the extremes than others. Any division of humanity into a simple dichotomy misses the glorious complexity of being human. Not sure that's where Jesus is really going with this, but wording it this way certainly lends itself to the people who do.The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil
Where does that leave something like raspberries? Ever tried handling a raspberry bush (other than the berries themselves)? If we try to pick fruit from thorns or brambles, we will only injure ourselves. Our attempts will have no effect on the prickly plants.
I think the thorns and brambles might be incidental to the story. Jesus was making the point you pick the fruit from the plant which produces that fruit. You don't look for it elsewhere.Where does that leave something like raspberries? Ever tried handling a raspberry bush (other than the berries themselves)?
Agree completely. But this might be an example of Jesus exaggerating to make a point. You would expect Jesus to understand that people have their strengths and weaknesses. He saw this with his own twelve disciples after all.And the vast majority of humanity who are neither? Who live day to day and might do some good and some evil along the way? Bad fruit can certainly come from brokenness. Our good fruit comes from the good in us. The bad fruit comes from the bad in us, usually from trauma or deficiency
I don't see any relationship, do you?Is there any relationship in this story to the fig tree that Jesus withers, simply because it wasn't producing fruit (out of season)?
That's pretty much what I found when I searched for the term.Generating a person sounds like creating a character for a roleplaying game or something.![]()
What are generated and ungenerated persons, @unsafe ?
I have never heard these terms. I am guessing saved and unsaved but please clarify.
your guess is right--------- but my mistake --it should be Regenerated not Generated ----I have never heard these terms. I am guessing saved and unsaved but please clarify.

A Tree and Its Fruit - “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit; for each tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good...www.biblegateway.com
