"Life rolls on"

I have been to this conference the last two days, where the inspirational guest speaker was the founder of "Life rolls on"- a volunteer organization enabling people with disabilities to go surfing.
The founder became quadriplegic at a surfing accident at age 17- his determination has not only brought him back to surfing, but also inspired thousands to volunteer and their events lets kids experience freedom on a surf board.
On sentence in his autobiographic documentary stroke me, that's why I am putting this under "Religion and Faith" forum:

"Just pray to the fragility of life and you'd be onto something."

Thanks for this Mrs.Anteater - that fragility of life is so frightening sometimes, I think we push it into the background of conscious thought much of the time. A good reminder to lean into the wonders of life in a mindful way.

The organization sounds great, yet his motto is not for me. I pray to God, and to God alone.

I also thought that was a more modern understanding and an alternative to "the old guy in the sky". The thing is- people are getting it and are out there doing good stuff. One will not get them pressed into a "church mould". They are speaking much more open about "the fragility of life" than your average church goer and they don't have strings attached to what they do. And they are having fun !
