Yobo same home tonight about two hours ago and ice just dining out of the washroom now. She really had to drop a reused.

Epiphhinay was celebrated at church last sunday. The wiseman came to my household on the 6th. (It's a traditional mexican thing). They brought gifts.
With Epiphany duly marked it is time for all decorations to get packed up.

Do you have a Nativity set out Jae?

Nice try Tabitha. We're still in the season of Epiphany. If you truly cared about celebrating it, you would know that. No, I don't have a nativity set out. As a member of the working poor, I cannot afford such a luxury.

LOL well Jae you can continue to claim you are working poor- and without your mothers and wife support you may be

My nativity set is one I made

If you can afford to buy a coffee every sunday after church-you could afford the materials to make a creche or nativity set and have a decoration in your home to signify the reason for Christmas and epiphany.

Some people make excuses others overcome obstacles

Jae if you message me your address I will send you used toilet paper rolls. There are many free patterns available for you to transform them into a nativity set. I'm sure many other wc2 folks would also send you TP Rolls.

Right - you make excuses to not celebrate the full season of Epiphany. I'm still celebrating it, luxury of nativity set or no. I do so through my devotions, and focus on participating in the Missio Dei.

Tabitha, thank you for your kind offer, however I'll decline.

Ummmm.... Would it be bad form for me to point out that Epiphany is a DAY, not a SEASON? After the Say of Epiphany we enter into the first of two periods of 'Ordinary Time', outside of any festival season.

Redbaron, the season of Epiphany begins each year on January 6th, and continues right up to Shrove "Pancake" Tuesday (the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday). As such, it is actually a longer season than is Christmas.

Nope. It's a day, not a season. Today is the first Sunday in ordinary time, and is referred to as the first Sunday AFTER (and not ;IN) Epiphany.

This year, Trinity Sunday is May 22. Then ordinary time begins and lasts up to Reformation Sunday (October 30).

I'm starting a thread in Church Life and moving my exchange with Jae on liturgical calendars to it since this is off-topic for Last Post.
