Is your Mom a dancer? My advice is go for the Sammy Davis rather than the Fred Astaire taps.

I've installed taps on a bathroom sink before. It's not hard-but I did get a special wrench-to fit better in the small space. Just follow the directions.

I am mildly handy but have learned the hard way to steer clear of plumbing jobs beyond simple stuff like cleaning out drains. Last time we changed up some taps, we bought the taps and then a plumber installed them. He also put shut-offs in under the kitchen sink since those weren't required under code so hadn't been installed by our builder's plumber.

OKay I do check for shutoffs first.If the shutoffs are present and work I will change the taps-otherwise I call the pros. I did the upstairs bathroom taps, and main floor bathroom taps in last house.
Oldest child did the kitchen taps in this hose-with a spout that converts to a spray and a built in soap dish on a double sink.

Thanks...tomorrow requires a trip to Red Deer for acupuncture...hopefully the drive isn't too hard on me.

Thankfully all I have to do re: taps is unlock the church door for our neighbour and then supervise and provide encouraging comments.
