I received an etransfer after lunch for a weird amount from someone I don't know and the note just says to reference the email she sent earlier this morning. I did not get an email from that name or about that amount so I have no idea what this is for, and because it's an oddball amount, it COULD be for ads, but I don't know because I didn't get the email, nor can I find anyone who may know the person. Quite the mystery.
You probably know this, but beware of strange etransfers. The scam is to email you later and say the transfer was in error, and to kindly return the money. Never do that. Let the bank sort it out. If you etransfer it "back" to someone, then the bank finds it was fraudulently sent, they could claw the amount back again so you're out the same money you thought you were up.

And your etransfer to them is long gone.

Help yourself to another :) They turned out MUCH better than the first time I made these back in August. This recipe is a definite keeper.

Phoned the press guy I deal with ...his response to my announcement that I'm done with Black Press effective immediately was..."Good for you!" Which leads me to believe that things are getting even uglier there.

Oh wow, that's not a good sign ... for them. At least you're getting away.
He also mentioned that he plans to retire in two years, but it might be sooner depending on upcoming decisions from the company.

I still need the $1K to pay the final bill and then I'm completely finished with them.

A man after my own heart. :giggle: (yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat with my job. My employer is a great company but I'm having some doubts about our corporate group and I'm now within 5 years of normal retirement date anyhow)

Does make a difference when you're closer to 65.

Nobody wants to do anything anymore ... especially those that wish to direct things emotionally with little intelligence. It is a self-diminishing process ... like retirees running charities for fantastic compensation rates ... considering they are already retired ... thus double dunking! The second time is fatal ... all thoughts are washed up ...

New update...Lethbridge press came back with a VERY good offer for me to consider - waiting to hear xmas cost...depending on what it is, I "may" be able to continue...I'll still be sending payment to Black Press as I have but I'd be dealing more directly with Lethbridge and I'd still have delivery to my door.

An interesting development in the ongoing saga. Who knew there could be such drama in running a small town weekly?:giggle:

I'm not a weekly, remember ;)

Xmas issue is $100 less than I expected so I'm back on with Lethbridge...and Lethbridge contacted Black Press to say it's a new negotiated price so the Black Press threat is off from over my head. And, I told them that I have these other options in the works if this doesn't work out so they are playing very nice. :)
