Dirt ... so much dirt about these days and some say dirt is insane!

Is not everything insane ... because I do not see much evidence of an ideal wisdom? That'd be beyond here ... mental facade!

While they have all the equipment on the street, the County is now putting fresh gravel down in front of my house and getting rid of the ruts and holes where I park! :)

It suddenly got insanely windy here...if it continues later, I may have to forgo handing out treats because it's so strong I can barely even open my door!

It is a very wet, rainy west coast day. I got a new raincoat in the summer, so I'm good. I am supposed to get a meals voucher for my appointment in Vancouver next week. I tried to get into the Canadian Cancer Society cancer lodge, and they were full. They put the overflow into other nearby accommodations. We'll be staying at a B&B in a Victorian home. They are also supposed to give a meal voucher. The man I spoke to yesterday directed me to the cancer society. When I called today, I was told the lodge handles it. Hopefully, it will get sorted out.

I always love that routine. We even have at work sometimes.

Person 1: "They do it."

Person 2: "No, they do it" (referring to person 1)

... ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Not what Joni Mitchell had in mind with "The Circle Game" but the title kind of fits.

The man last night called around 5:30 or 6. I'm guessing he's not the most knowledgeable among the bunch. The lodges are amazing and someone else in this position told me about the funding. I expect I'll speak to someone more knowledgeable today

So, I finally got a clear answer about the food voucher. It was painful spelling my name to the woman on the phone. She did have background noise. After many, many times spelling my name, she finally got it. B,V, and C sound alike. Maybe another letter got involved. At any rate, the food voucher program was funded by the province. It has been cancelled.

At least I got a clear answer. At last.

That's why I spell things out on the phone for people like this...

T as in Tom, H as in Henry, E as in Edward, C as in Charlie, H as in Henry, AU, T as in Tom, AU, Q as in Queen, UA! :)

I usually say the first three letters are B as in Bravo, third letter V as in Victoria. That usually does it. Then she said, CaB? No. I don't know how many times I repeated myself. I finally spelled it using the alpha, bravo, charlie language. She got it then. I was talking to someone in Vancouver. I even said V as in Vancouver and B, the second letter in the alphabet.

Sometimes it does take a bit of effort

As I only had 4 stop LAST year, I only planned for a dozen this year...I have already had 8 kids that I have never seen before (there are a lot of new ones in town) stop so I may be finished for the night earlier than planned?!

I don't like the fall time change. Despite the extra hour of sleep, it's a very forced reminder that we are entering the tunnel, which really increases my depression levels.

My main beef with the change this year is that I just got over my 7 hours of jet lag from Greece, now I've got an hour more to deal with.
