We'll be finding glitter forever nowBrushing off golden glitter. Geez, who threw this stuff all over. Oh well, I'm LAST.
Not surprised if they are getting hammered as badly as you are.Contacted some other small newspapers in the area who aren't Black Press newspapers to see who their press is - Black Press and they are TICKED with the price increase
The saga continues. One of the other freebies in the area uses a different press and they gave me their press guy's contact info. I emailed for a quote. They contract out some of their non-newspaper printing to Black Press so were well aware of the increased prices as they got slapped with an increase too...and they heard some customers had gotten hit with a 90% increaseNot surprised if they are getting hammered as badly as you are.
YOu would want a fairly sophisticated unit, too, with collation and booklet printing features so that as much of the work could be automated as possible. Not cheap, let me tell you. We have one like that at our head office. They also break down a lot with that many moving parts, I find, so you're spending a lot of time waiting for techs to come in.Also, sis's old boss is still sure that I can lease a copier and print it cheaper myself - I can't and I know that because of all the price quotes I got back in July/August when the press threatened to cut me off.
Plus, would such a unit fit in my house and that would also impact my electrical bill...there are lots of "hidden" costs associated with that optionYOu would want a fairly sophisticated unit, too, with collation and booklet printing features so that as much of the work could be automated as possible. Yeppers. Copiers aren't exactly thrifty in their hydro use. And you would want a good wired network connection between it and the computer, too, which probably means getting a guy like me in to make sure it is set up properly unless you're more of a computer geek than I think.that would also impact my electrical bill
Depends on what the particular situation is as to how geeky I am but generally speaking, I'd need a guy like you to set it up and be on perpetual standby in case things didn't work when I needed them to (cause techs aren't always prompt when you need them to be)Yeppers.
