Winnipeg is a beautiful city. I visited there once as a youth.
However, I was referring to Toronto, named by The Economist as the world's best city to live in.
That isn't true in my experience BethAnne - but then I haven't experienced much of the west. I really like Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, and absolutely love the Maritimes. Alberta is nice, judging by what little I've seen of it (lived in Elk Point for a few months, been in Edmonton for a few hours, never been to Calgary), and I've always wanted to visit BC - which I've heard is gorgeous. I also would really like to visit the north sometime. I feel just about everywhere in Canada has something wonderful to offer.

I always found Toronto to be Canada's most self-righteous and most seamy and boring city. Montreal used to be good - but it's changing. Vancouver is okay. But the weather is too enervating to do anything. And stay away from Wreck beach where the nudists hang out. They're the best argument for clothing I have ever seen. Hong Kong tops them all, a city constantly moving, close to wonderful beaches, fantastic restaurants.... I also saw a church there that roused my curiosity. It was in a high rise (almost everything in Hong Kong is in a highrise). It had a sign on the ground floor. "Heap Gay Church"

One of my favourite places is Success, SK...back in 1990 (or 91) we were driving to visit relatives in Herbert, SK and discovered we were running out of gas - thankfully the owners were at the Success gas station checking it for the evening when we drove into town on fumes and very nicely filled our tank even though it was Sunday and they were closed.
They sound like nice people BethAnne. I guess Saskatchewan has that kind of effect on people.
