Beloved, you interrupted a pleasant interlude of looking into the mirror. In any case, and as you should know, we have a Baptist peasantry to shovel snow in this province.

Actually, in another thread, I would debate the focus of Baptists and many other Christians. They are often very focused on themselves and their own salvation. And I'm not at all convinced that's what the message is all about. But that's n ot a topic for Last Post.

Some churches of various kinds have been known to shovel snow ⛄, rake leaves, mow lawns, paint etc. for free. We certainly would - for someone who truly needed it. Evangelical churches do focus too much on individual salvation, while some other churches focus too much on social justice issues. However, as you suggest, perhaps that's best left for another thread.

Uh, no. check that sentence carefully. The word qu is not French. Indeed the whole sentence is not French, but a little known dialect of Northern Scotland that was occupied by Normans in the 10th century. What it says is, "Go get a job, you lout."
