Same. My parents got tired of me yelling "Damn" all the time so they taught me to "Darn".remember being taught this skill when I was about 13.
I don't even know the rules, let alone how to play chessNever darned a sock in my life bit I know how it's done in theory. Kind of like playing chess. I know the rules but not how to actually play the game.
I know the rules but I'm not exactly a stellar player. I once beat one of the top players in my high school, though. He didn't show up so I got it by forfeit.I don't even know the rules, let alone how to play chess

I taught Claire to go in the opposite direction. My parents got tired of me yelling "Damn" all the time so they taught me to "Darn".
May I suggest backgammon?I know how to play it. My godfather taught me when I was about 7, I think. However, I never really developed the opportunity to see several potential moves down the road (a spatial thing, as much as anything), so I never got very good at it, nor enjoyed it much.
I taught Claire to go in the opposite direction.
