snow stopped but I just had a very cold 30min (?) visit with a neighbour who stopped to look at the sales

It was sunny when I left the house this morning. I set out wearing my sunglasses. As I was heading north it became greyer. The clouds were sitting on the mountains to my left and they were raining on those below. When I got to my destination it was closer to rain and quite chilly. I had an enjoyable lunch with a friend. I stopped at the grocery store on my way home. The power went out when I was at the til. Thankfully they had generators so the blackness didn't last long.

Got really windy here last night during the rain. Seems nice for at least the first part of today.

Just dull and cool here. I'm going to try to take the hound for another walk this afternoon - to the slightly farther corner (8 houses) and back.

Just back from a (hound-free) walk. It is cool and breezy out but I had a fairly heavy windbreaker on over a sweatshirt so ended up a bit sweaty. Soundtrack was Eccentric, a "best of" compilation of the now defunct Dutch symphonic metal band After Forever.

Walked a bit over a km to an undeveloped lot on the river and took a break there our of the wind. I saw a few turkeys in a field on the way there and Canada geese in another field on the way back. We only had a few branches come down in the wind yesterday.

It was a short walk, but successful. I'm going to try the small block tomorrow. Lucy and I have made some adjustments to our walking style which may help. I couldn't convince her to walk on my right side, but she's agreeable to the left side with the leashes held in my right hand.
Yippee!

I have, until now, been the sloppier of the two dog walkers Lucy encounters in a day. Jim has long legs, walks fast, doesn't tolerate much faffing about, and walks her with two 5' leashes, one attached to martingale, the other to her halti. I, on the other hand, 'walked' her behind a 6' leash clipped to both martingale and halti, and with some persistence and twisting, she could get out of the halti. If it was post-mid-walk, and she wasn't pulling, much, I'd let her away with it. So, at going on 12, she's going to have to be a more consistently well trained walker...

Went out early to watch the sunrise and ended up helping a neighbour get two pails of Easter water from the creek on her lot along with stories. The sun rise was hidden by a cloud bank but it was still a special Easter morning. Water taken from a clean flowing creek before sunrise on Easter Sunday is considered holy water with special healing power for the year. An extra blessing was seeing the big red fox that wanders at times through our yards. This was the closest I have been to this fox. Happy Easter everyone.
