went better than I expected...there was a perfect opening in the general conversation for me to bring it up and overall, everyone was blown away that I had the bravery to speak up...while the teachers didn't think they were out of line, after I actually read the piece and gave the real context (not their imagined one), they did admit that they did not have all the information and gave additional feedback that was much more helpful and actually answered my question (though they said the other feedback still stood :p) and it lead to deeper discussion than they had anticipated about being brave enough to speak up - verbally and in our writing.

Now to deal with the Bell bill - which is higher than a regularly monthly bill and higher than the penalty charges I had been told even with all the credits for cancelling mid-pay period...they sure want to get all the money out of you that they can!

I could not figure out why the Bell bill was so high...they seem to have clawed back the $23 credit they gave me!

There are reasons that I have been known to refer to that company as "Hell Canada"

Back when we used them more for branch connections, they used to bill us $300 for not returning the DSL modem even when we had followed their process for returning it. My staff spent too much time getting that crap resolved.

I honestly have had almost zero trouble with them before I added the internet to my account - any issues were minor hiccups that were quickly and easily resolved...this, boggles my mind...when customers have a few more options and can leave at anytime would you not be going out of your way to keep who you have?

So sad, too. While the service may be good, and dependable, the people behind the service can be total jerks.

whomever makes the rules is the real problem....I even have issues with Canada Post - and I know most of the rules better than the postal staff!

It's been years since I've had to deal with them, thank all the goddes, but is their Technical Assistance still outsourced to call centres? That always made things that much worse, to my mind. Because there's an unwritten rule in call-centre world that you can't service your own locale. When my daughter worked for a call centre, she was working for cable companies in Florida; last time I called Telus for help, I spoke to Robert in Guatemala City... It makes for automatic miscommunications because of cultural barriers. My daughter often said that women from Florida were the very stupidest in the entire world, which I'm sure is not demographically true, but it appears to be culturally true, and it sets up the relationship for disaster.

Yes, still dealing with call centres...trying to explain that you are an hour away from the nearest store always is met with disbelief because it should just be down the street from you.

Federal 'assistants' for the nation get it all weirded up too. Once, when I was looking for an answer to a question regarding citizenship, I was told it could only be dealt with in a face to face fashion. I should go to the Federal office in Regina. Nothing I could say helped the young lady understand that Regina was over three hours drive away! Hmmm - the provincially run health care system can be equally dense. Our son needed a stint in rehab. The system sent him home to wait for an appointment (no told us, no one alerted the local hospital, no one thought to send any medical info with him). A few weeks later they phoned mid morning to say he was to be at the rehab centre before noon. I was accused of being unco-operative when i pointed out that that was impossible.

Many office type folks do to some degree. When I was doing my MLS online through Southern Connecticut State University they flagged my account for a violation (100% online weren't allowed on campus) and when I phoned to deal with the situation (they had me mixed up with someone else) I was told it could only be dealt with in person with the registrar and they felt very proud because they could get me in at 3 pm (it was 2:30 their time at the time of the call)...they couldn't understand why I couldn't be there in half an hour...after getting nowhere by saying I was in Canada and couldn't even get to an airport in 1/2 hr, I finally asked if they knew where Montana was (they said yes) and told them to stack another Montana on top of the state and that was approximately where I was...the response: "So you don't want this 3 pm appointment?" I was tempted to hang up on them but I had learnt from previous calls that if I did, there was only 4 phones on the entire campus that could phone out of Connecticut so I stayed on (it was their dimes, not mine) until I got a person who could help me.

Such is the definition of bureaucratic function ... straight ahead according to the book ... even if the book in hand doesn't cover any exceptional circumstances!

Thus we do the same mistake over and over and never learn ... cause at least one book says knowledge learning, and wisdom are evil ... " it would be better if the commoners didn't know!" If that isn't ratchet enough ... it may define ire and crank out madness!

Isn't that bodacious? Like that spook in the forest ... body of Silas ... marinating! So much rot to learn of ... in biological digestion and breakdown ... fiddle muse-ique? Celtic degeneration as the stone falls ...

Having looked back and connecting to last time's, it seems FB strongly objects to me telling people that it was the tap water that caused my health issues and how I resolved it.
