I've finished the shawl-that-won't-let-me-be-bored and it is blocking.

The puzzle equivalent of borrowing a book and finding a key page ripped out or marked up.

Imagine how much is paid out for an original version with authors thoughts in the marginal Zoans ... the price may be soaring due to elitism!

Then countering celebrity is humility as private communications in the darker form ... the celibate Big Bad John is common enough ... even in deep holes and Kohl spots ... these may be pages turners ... ostlers? Derived from oesters ... hard deep intelligence ... can be painful as PTSD and other autistic spectra ... often denied existentialism! Never to be spoken about for general and kernels of guilt? Battle leaders ... of the alternate kind! Then there is calmpassion ... out there somewhere ... seems it is dunne goan ... Ganess! Parallel to C'est Fin eh boies ...

Right, but those notes often have value in their own right for understanding the text or the author. Some other library patron (or their kids) scribbling on the page is a whole other issue.

Worse when it is one of the most expensive books in the library

The very worst thing is when someone cuts one of the pictures out of an art book.
True...we had a brand new and very expensive encyclopedia set - back when libraries had print sets - and someone cut out pictures (right in the library) when I was busy with another patron and snuck the book back on the shelf

Some people ...

I have never cut a page out of a book, at least not one that technically was not mine.

I have trouble cutting up my own books - which I only do when the book is falling apart so badly that it is destined for the recycling and there is a page or two (or pictures) I want to keep

Yeah, I've been known to that, too.

one drawback of this enforced home time, and more and more moving online, is that the number of emails I receive in a day has exploded to ridiculous numbers - and really, I should be getting much LESS as so many events have been postponed or cancelled outright
