Just home from my Tuesday Night Progressive Christianity group, first meeting of the new school year. Usual technical glitches, I'm afraid. LAST.

We don't worship. We discuss. Not all members of the group are members of the congregation. There's no understanding that any member might be a self-identified Christian, although there is an assumption that you're familiar with the basic concepts.

I found cables easier to do in the round. 'Regular" style knitting requires remembering the pattern a bit 'backwards' as you work those rows in reverse. I used to like doing complicated Aran sweaters and Guernseys

The cables were super easy in the round...I'm back to rib so not so bad going back and forth...just took me a bit to remember how to switch the knitting around. ;)

I prefer knitting on circulars. Of course, actually knitting in the round is much simpler that having to go back and forth. I'm doing a back and forth project right now.

Thus it goes on .. progression of dialogue 'd light? Networks or cobwebbing to others ... alternate cognizance !

Mental reciprocation .. abstract process ... not yet fixed as some bum steers are ...

I have used circulars but not to knit in the round. Just to go back and forth on a large item like a shawl.

The only straight needles I use anymore are dpns for socks. Even there I've found some short circulars that I'm trying out. :)

Last.

I prefer the Magic Loop method to double-pointed needles for small circular items.

I'm still using circular needles for the dress just going back and forth now as I do the sections between armholes and neckline.

I'm a very amateur knitter. I can do a pair of mitts, a scarf or a shawl with ease; beyond that, I struggle or require assistance from the knitting sister. I have made one pair socks and am not particularly keen to repeat the experience. I think he kept them as "keepsake" socks...

4 needles is a tricky one for me, as I often find that when I pick it up again, I have a tendency to charge off in the wrong direction, with amusing results...

I haven't tried mitts yet...seems something beyond "amateur" :)

Figuring out the four needles is a challenge. Once you figure that out, socks are easy. Okay, well then you have to figure out the Kitchener stitch. Then they're easy. :)

I've tried that and was only successful using this when I knitted a bulky weight hat. Otherwise, the Magic Loop hurts my head. o_O

Actually, mitts are quite easy. That being said, if you can knit mitts, you can knit socks because they use the same principles.

I can use Magic Loop way quicker than dpls - when I do get to socks, I'm going to try the process of knitting two at a time. :)

I just discovered I have the wrong date on this week's paper. Wonder if anyone will notice?
