On the one hand, they are only helping because they are mandated to help their neighbour by their church, on the other hand, they don't really want to help because we (as members of the United Church) are heathens - and so far resistant to their conversion attempts.

Seelerman has finished 'repairing' the front steps. We now have a 8x7 foot 'landing' by our front door, and three wooden steps - replacing the concrete steps that were slowly sinking into the ground and no longer safe. As we stood outside this morning watching the sun rise, Seelerman remarked "If I'd done this in May we could have enjoyed it all summer." and I told him "If we'd done this 40 years ago (when we bought the house) think of the enjoyment we could have had."
