And I can be cynical because if I had cancer, they'd be practically living here and falling all over themselves to help.

This matches my observations BethAnne. I am so sorry you have these demonstrations of uncaring to deal with. I have often wondered what it is that triggers genuine caring. Seems in real life that it is only cancer and visible illness that brings help. Why is it so hard for people to accept that one can be quite handicapped by low oxygen levels, neuropathy, heck even poor vision!

Not sure about Red, but it's my fast food of last resort. I will go to Mickey D's before BK. I simply have never had a memorable or even good meal at one.
I agree, although I did have fun as a kid getting a crown there. If in a group and we go to BK I'll get a chicken burger or something because the hamburgers are not good.

I've honestly enjoyed meals at both BK and Mickey D's. However, I personally like BK a whole lot more than Mickey D's. The taste of the former is far superior to me than the latter. Moreover, Mickey D's never sent me a coupon for a regular fries which they could have on account of something that happened on Twitter, so I am boycotting them.

I am the same. If I want a burger, it's either one of the specialty burger joints like Five Guys or else Harvey's. These days, though, I often go for Tex-Mex fast food (eg. Quesada).

Harvey's I feel are the worst hamburgers made by the fast food conglomerates. I stopped eating them years ago because I always disliked the taste so. I could always taste filler in them. Blech.

Five Guys are good, and I like Hero Certified Burgers even more. They're pricier than McD and BK though so I like to opt for BK. Other hamburgers I like a lot come from Webers, and DQ.

I think of Harvey's as being one of the best. I've tried some of the new places like Five Guys and Fatburger. Fatburger screwed up orders way too much and charged for toppings they didn't include. The others I find to be too pricey compared to the fast food chains. There was an exception by the university although I don't remember what it was called and I don't think it's there any more. It opened along with a burrito libre and I think the owners switched it to a larger burrito libre. There's some new burger places around, I'm open to trying them but will most likely stick to fast food.

Harvey's a big winner for me now too with the increase in toppings due to the other things they started serving. Guac and cucumbers on my burger for no extra charge? I'm all for that!

Carl's Jr. is also up there, although we don't have any nearby. More expensive than the common fast food places, but worth it for the toppings.

If I'm in the mood for a burger, I look for a Wendy's or A&W. Harvey's isn't too bad. McDs only as a last resort. I find that BK burgers, and especially BK fries make starvation a live option. Just my (ahem) humble opinion, of course, but BK is best avoided.

A&W first choice...Dairy Queen second choice...after that only other option around here is McDonalds.

Niece not here so had to track her down - emotional meltdown happened :( - found them and she came with me...we delivered the papers in Alix and Bashaw...got home with 20 minutes to spare before 10:00 - working on the signs and it started raining (God sense of humour isn't impressing me)...got the signs up (covered in plastic) and the sale set up...niece had to go home...no customers yet.

sale...

I cannot honestly remember the decade in which I last had a fast food hamburger. Gotta guess it was the 90s, when my kids were growing up, and once a month I offered a "fast food meal" as a treat of some sort. They got excited by Happy Meals and crap like that, and I'm sure I would have had something to eat with them.

Only one person stopped today - guy offered me $5 for the whole lot...I refused as I know that he'd then take it to the local gift shop consignment corner and put $50 on each one.

Have you ever been involved in a Studio Trail? Several artists in an area choose a weekend, advertise and then sell their own stuff from their house or studio. Customers drive from place to place to see everything. Might bring you more customers - assuming there are other artists in your area.

Someone tried to set one up a few years back as there are a lot of different artisans around here and no one would commit/participate...I might have to keep that in mind for another time.
