I have a huge problem. They are, most of them, puppets for billionaires. As a result, we cannot supply basic social needs because billionaires are allowed to keep their money hidden - many, many billions a year are lost to us. Most of our of our governments also give billionaires massive handouts. We have fallen under the rule of a new aristocracy. ( I could tell a long story here of our governmental involvements in environmental destruction, and in the horrible behaviour of Canadian companies, especially mining companies, all over the world.
We are, like the United States, in serious trouble as a result of this. A politician should have a set of values. I have seen little evidence of this. And the NDP and the Greens are far, far too wimpy to deal with the problem.

Graeme ... you've got to be wrong ... according to light visions of Christianity all is out in the open ... especially the rich ... and the po' will eventually go after them ... parsimoniously or patricianly (derived from partisan) so they won't see themselves going down? The occult is gone ... or so those thought that don't believe in the Shadow looking silently over their shoulder ...

Isn't that the devil or just a satyr-like mythology? Bugs the devil out of the righteous ... so they can't think critically! Myself I'm told I'm always wrong .. tis depressing ... always looking up from down here in Dante's imaginary pits ... resembles a dimple in space ...

Tis a lastin hang-up like a peter in the temple or a hatchet in the garden ...

LAST as I decide what I am going to do with this lovely day. Dog has been swum and walked, all the critters are fed, and I've got a hot cup of coffee.

Sounds like your day is well begun. Coffee is a good part of it. I'll join you. c[_]

I am NDP, and I find it heartbreaking to see what it has become over the last fifty years. And I am a socialist because socialism is the only social system that is compatible with Christianity. Capitalism is not.
I am, therefore, superior to BethAnne.

Define "socialism". A lot of what is called "socialism" in the West isn't.

If you're talking all-out everything belongs to the state/collective socialism a la Mao, nope. Not going there. That has never worked out for the better.

If you're talking "social democracy", which is what most Western so-called socialists advocate and which is more about redistribution of wealth and resources (e.g. single payer health care, partly or wholly subsidized education right up to the undergraduate level, guaranteed basic income or similar to keep people above the poverty line, and such like) to ensure a fair baseline for all while still having private property, profit-making businesses, and individual liberty, then I'm in.

Uppity and crusty like ...

You're in, Mendalla. (Actually, the state-collective systems of Mao and Stalin were never socialist - and never communist, either, for that matter. In any case, I don't see how even a genuine, marxist communism could ever work except in an impossibly idealistic and Christian world.)

Can you imagine an idealistic Christianity in a flawed humanity?

Got to be out there somewhere ... generally unknown and unseen right now ... except for some people that appear a little cracked ... working their way into the flaw? From one perspective this out is in ... and we question who is at second base ... and who's completely out of the game ... Last in?
