Feb 2 = halfway point (ie 6 weeks) between winter solstice and spring equinox.

Papers were dropped off here an hour early this morning...since I got such an early start, I decided to do the whole trip today...got home only an hour later than I usually get home after the first half of the trip...though, I'm quite tired now.

We had an unusually cold December on the west coast - a bit of snow, but the night and morning of gale winds at -8 was the worst of it for me - I found that to be bitter cold! then a couple of weeks ago I read that the worst of winter was behind us. But tonight...winter is back. Snowfall warning 10-15 cm. I realize that's nothing for most of you but I'm not acclimatized to it! In December, I bought those ice/ snow cleats that stretch over my shoes - they've been really helpful!

Even if we're used to it, it doesn't mean it isn't hard to deal with sometimes.
