Or to test doneness of meat on your BBQ (yes, it's happened to me ).

When we were kids, ours went off every time we made toast - even if we barely browned the bread.

I cleaned my oven yesterday (well put it on self clean) resulting in a bit of smoke, but the over the stove fan and an open door took care of it.

Winter isn't coming. It's here. Finally. Who knows for how long though? Will the snow LAST long enough for Little M to get in some skiing now that exams are over (for him)?
