I agree. Something more like the Deadhead steelie, maybe with a ribbon through it dedicated to "Suzanne"...

Just generally crappy here this am. And PM. We need sun, damn it. Snow I can take or leave, but this grey, shower-y crap has to end.

We have persistent ice. Friend reported three birch trees snapped in her backyard. My trees are fine, although all ice covered. Dog is slip-sliding round the back yard as if she's got independently-managed limbs...

I'm a busy man. And dealing Bell Tel is hell on earth. I shall no longer need a TV hookup since it comes with my apartment. I will continue a need for a hookup for my computer, though. So I called Bell to set up my computer in the new place, but cut off my TV.
I was told that if I opted just for the computer connection and cut off TV, my monthly bill would actually rise by $30!!

While packing, I discovered a toy going back to my childhood. It's a bayonet with a blade about a foot long. When I was twelve, they were very cheap. They were ridiculous knives for camping - but every kid wanted one for status. I also found my collection of cartoons by Bill Mauldin, the great British cartoonist of World War One. I've had that since I was six or seven. It's now a full century old. I gave it to my son. But I shall never give up my collection of pledge cards issued a century ago by the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. (the temperance movement was the subject of my doctoral thesis.)

The weather here is fine. I've yet to zip up my windbreaker or even consider a scarf. And the streets are bare. It's not like I'm one of those prairie zombies frozen until spring.

No zombies on this prairie...the snow is almost all gone from our yard and we have green grass...won't LAST as there will be more storms - especially when the calves start dropping.

Last as the snow continues to melt but still no green grass. Hope the melt continues with maybe just a bit of snow as a cushion for those poor little calves when they start dropping. :)
