I'm looking more for an old fashioned hooded cape.

I'll bet Ravelry has those too. For Christmas, thanks to my sister's talents (available on Ravelry) , I got a lovely simple cylindrical shoulder shawl in a pretty mohair/silk blend almost exactly the same warm brown/copper/gold colour of my hair. It's the perfect thing to top a plain black turtleneck and pants...
