great number BA. I am feeling thankful for friends who offered to come and spray my wasp nest. I react strongly to bites and got bit on Sat.

From experience, those "fake" nests you can buy at the hardware store actually seem to work. I hung one out in a couple of places over a couple of years and haven't had any new nests started since. Yes, BA seems to get some nice #s; guess it's compensation for being LAST so often.

We have a lot of wasps around our compost bin - no nest and I have a fake nest there. Big worry is that something is digging a hole under the compost bin and I'm not sure what.

Very windy and wet here...haven't been out today to assess any damage yet. Blew our grape over yesterday. Mornings are getting darker.

Tarp is still covering the sale tables...rain is still pouring down and the wind blowing...creature dug another hole under the compost bin...I'm off to Red Deer via Ponoka in an hour or so.

If you put eggshells in the compost, probably a skunk. I restrict my eggshells to the lockable rolling composter. Other people bake them in the oven to make them less attractive to skunks.

We usually have egg shells in there and haven't had any trouble before. In the grand scheme of things a skunk is better than a gopher - though I rather we didn't have either...my dad had a pet skunk once - a wild baby he rescued and raised - and he told us it never sprayed him.
