My Grandmother had a set day for laundry it was always done on Monday morning. And she would never leave a dish in the sink before going to bed. That sort of orderliness couldn't last forever though.

That was the same for us growing up...actually the only time I leave dishes in the sink overnight is if it is something that needs to soak.

If too last and didn't get the laundry done some say just turn the underthings inside out!
In the case of cutlery ther are some that don't believe in the bending of hispoon tang ... but believe me che'z the one to go there ... thus finality!
