Mythbusters did a very good debunking of much of the so-called evidence a few seasons back. I think NASA should get rights from Discovery and post it on their site. Daily motion has it posted, though who knows whether it will get taken down at some point.

Shall we play dueling videos then?

And... what? That's supposed to get me to change my mind?

No. I doubt I can change your mind on it. But if you're going to spout moon landing conspiracy crap, I'm going to make sure the alternative is also expressed so people hear both sides.

First Mendalla, I didn't "spout" anything. I stated that in my opinion there's a possibility that it was not authentic. There's a big difference between the two. Secondly, if you're going to engage in dialogue with people, it's best not to categorize what they feel might be true to be "crap." I issued no such insult about your view.

I calls 'em the way I sees 'em. I have called things crap on WC2 before and shall likely do so again. If you don't like it, there's a report button. End of conversation.

LAST as I contemplate whether to dance merrily through the stars or plunge deeply into the depths of the Earth.

Both my parents with minimal educations stated that moon landings were nothing but NASA frigging up the weather trying to go where they really didn't because God wouldn't let them ... in their mind!

I have trouble fighting this heritage ...

The other day a minister told me that he never heard of a minister telling a congregant that he shouldn't think and mentally process. I itemized some of the incidents ... but you could tell that there was some disbelief. Yet one of the older ministers used the expression repeatedly ... intelligence goes against the will ... as an inimical situation ... oppositional side of the metaphysical ghost of mind? Spooky? Perhaps, perhaps not, depending on where you come from ...

Last ... down the rabid hole ... a vicious thing consuming all human dreams ... when you are somnolent ... Joseph of Egypt ... land of the abstract ... imaginary as eve? In the shaman, shadow ... keep your head out of sight ... like Moses in the face of gods ...

Picked and pitted 4 cups of cherries...also picked a handful of potatoes, carrots and peas. Sale was successful today...niece and I did a lot of walking around town and played in the sprinkler.

Did you find time for a nice nap?

Still haven't napped yet. Oh, a chipmunk popped out of a neighbour's hedge when niece and I walked by this morning – never seen one around here before.

I've spent the day (and a good portion of the week) working on a sermon for this coming Sunday. As I continue to prayerfully prepare, I'm becoming increasingly excited about preaching it.

It's an interesting concept to be excited about saying words in front of a captive audience.

I'm much fonder of the "and if necessary, use words" sort of ministry. But that's my preference, and my life experience. I rarely remember what people say, but what they do, and how my interaction with them makes us feel.

I feel that there are places in the church for both preaching and lifestyle evangelism. When I preach my goal is to help energize the congregation that they might then go and do life together with the people of the greater community.
