After watching The Fly (both versions) I've sworn off teleportation for life. Well, unless it was an inherent superpower like Nightcrawler in X-Men.

why couLdn't the scientist just hAve programmed it into the teleporter not to mix human dna with anything elSe? seems preTty simple for one who can design and build a teleporter.

Hey, Brundle was a physicist, not a biologist. It probably never occurred to him that a DNA filter would be needed. :D He would not be the first scientist with a blind spot for stuff outside his field.

And in the 1950s version, it wasn't a DNA swap, it was just a body part swap of the most grotesque kind:

Sermon was finished Thursday, actually. Well, the writing part was. It won't tru;y be finished until sometime tomorrow morning... for sermons are meant to be delivered, not written.

So last weekend a minister commented to me that his sermon was always better at the 2nd service. The first one is like a rehearsal or practice. What do you think?

Hmmm...ask a teacher. There's often teachers who teach two or three (or even four) classes of the same thing to students.

Time 2 might be the sweet spot in a week. By 3 or 4 you've forgotten who you've said what to.

Depends. If a minister just reads from a script (yes, I've seen it), not sure 1st or 2nd would make much difference. For someone like me who preaches from notes and can vary and adjust things on the fly, the second would probably be better a lot of the time just because I've been through it once already.

I would agree, the 2nd time through a sermon is usually better. Back when I had a 3 point charge, the running gag was I wrote the sermon at point #1, practiced it at point #2, and by the third church it was ready. Though I sometimes found that by the 3rd time through the same hymns, prayers and such, I was almost on automatic pilot.

Also depends on the character of the congregation...ours is vastly different than the other church in our pastoral charge.

the topic we studied was appreciative inquiry. Let me tell you, it is one humdinger. imAgine - it can be uSed insTead of concentrating on church problems.

I've heard Red preach once, I went to the 2nd service. He's good and even asks if there are any questions or comments at the end!

Good morning, world! Liquid sunshine hitting the ground like raindrops at the moment. Blue skies cleverly disguised as clouds. Have a happy day!!

De cautious of the splatter you could absorb some of de light ... metaphorically speaking if you believe in myths and metaphors in a world when forensic repetition is legally disallowed ... a form of BS!
