monopoly took forever. Many more games started than ever finished. We used to rent a cottage some summers that had Mousetrap.

crokinole, bridge, euchre, and a favourite was a card game called 99
or and friends had a board game called 'stock ticker"

For cards it was mainly Canasta, Hearts, Gin Rummy...few years ago friends taught us a card game called Golf - not sure I remember how to play it now.

I always liked the game of Life. Always kind of looked forward to wrecking my yacht on an iceberg, so I could make a fortune selling ice cubes. That was fun.

I loved monopoly as a kid. Life was played when we were a bit younger, and my sister couldn't fully grasp monopoly. Chemguy is a huge Settlers of Catan fan, so that's the game we often play now. We'll play mastermind when it's just the two of us, although no one really wins, as we both finish it.

I was given my Gramma's Mastermind game after she died as my sister and I always played that when we visited her.

when i was younger i pLayed card gAmes from time to time. eSpecially when visiTing relatives in new brunswick. our family games were hearts, and crazy rummy (three sets of three, anyone?).

For family games, it was mostly cards: Uno, Blackout (aka O S***!), cribbage. Some Monopoly. With friends: Monopoly, Risk, various wargames, Dungeons & Dragons and other pen and paper RPGs. With Little M's computer game obsession, we rarely play games at home. I was stunned when he and a friend asked me to play Monopoly with them back in the Fall.
