I had one of my faves - genuinely Mexican food. Don't get me wrong, i loves me some fast food Tex-Mex like Quesada but real Mexican food cooked by Mexican cooks is a whole other plane of reality. And it's damnably hard to find in Canada, esp. the culinary wasteland that is London. Chicken enchiladas in tomatillo sauce with onions for the win.

Sweet. I too had one of my faves - spaghetti made by my personal at-home chef. :)

Spaghetti is Canadian food?
I thought real Canadian food was butter tarts, poutine and maple syrup. (Not in the same dish, however.)

We consider it Canadian in our house because it is a dish I, rather than Yobo, have long eaten.

Butter tarts are absolutely Canadian.

They've always been Canadian to me because the best ones came from either my mother's oven or the little bake shop that used to be in Carnarvon, Ontario back in the seventies (forget exactly when it folded).

The best butter tarts I can recall we used to eat at my Dad's curling club when I was a kid. Big, delicious, warm, rich, flaky and yummy. Ooey-gooey good.

Carnarvon? Wow. I have many great memories of Little Boshkung where my great-aunt and uncle had a cottage.

We are on Boshkung Lake and have been since the forties when Grandad bought the property. My aunt and my brother jointly own the property now.

Okay...I always thought they were British as they were an integral part of Christmas on my mom's English side of the family, along with trifle...though we would make and eat butter tarts year round.

Today is National Burger Day in America (I just found out on Twitter). I feel Americans probably eat enough burgers anyway, but it seems they need a special day for it. I'm going to join in the fun, eating lots of burgers today myself.

What's your favorite burger?
