Dad was completely bedridden from Dec to April - didn't exactly "fade" but didn't go quick either...on the one hand it was nice to have the time with him, but on the other, it would have been easier for him if he'd gone quicker.

I'm surprised BA. Last week your mother was driving you to Camrose-or at least going on all day adventure with you. Now you are thinking she's near death. Here's ho[ping she does better.

Absolutely. I just can't figure out why, if there's a personal caring god, this isn't the usual way, because it's not. I've lost both my parents, and both of my ex-husband's parents, and none of the four were afforded that dignity.

My father went to bed and never woke up. A dignified way to leave this earth.

Similar story for my grandmother-in-law (the only one of Mrs.M's grandparents alive by the time I met her). Still hale and healthy at 93 and then passed away in her sleep one night. At the time was the only Christian in the family but Mrs. M's mother (ie. her daughter) converted shortly thereafter believing that faith had helped her mother live such a long life and have such a peaceful passing.

reading a good book by kennon caLlAhan called "effective church leaderShip. The age of the professional church leader is dead. long live the missional church leader!

Sister drove...mom was along for the trip but didn't do well on it - wiped her out and set her back a bit...truthfully she's been "near death" since 1996, there are just some days where she does better than others (or more like some days she pushes herself to appear normal and healthy but can't maintain the illusion for long).

preached today from second corinthians on the subject of friendship with god. we christians have been given the ministry of reconciLiAtion. when we are in loving, friendly, forgiving community with one another, we model god'S characTer to a fallen world.

Still a good day to stay inside. Neighbour shovelled the walk yesterday...a friend took a package to my sis for me today.

We've lost all our snow again. Flurries predicted this week but nothing substantial in the forecast at this point.
