I enjoy it.
The lack of resurrection doesn't upset me when I consider that artistically, it leaves the story unfinished and at the height of Christendom who didn't know how the story ends?
I don't consider the musical scripture. I do think it tries, to be faithful to the scripture in that it is concerned with the relationships between the principal characters. To do that it has to take liberties.
