Gretzky's definitely a legend on and off the ice. I love the idea of him being the honorary Captain. It's such a fitting role for someone who has inspired so many people. It’s awesome to hear that he finds strength and guidance in his faith.
Calling him 'the Great One' is an understatement. His impact on the game is massive and Canadian. It's great to see him still being recognized for his contributions

Rita, WTAF? There is a liberal leadership competition going on right now. He is a paid up member of the Liberal Party, like all of the other candidates. He may win, partly due to his impressive economic credentials, but he has not been annointed.
You might not like the Canadian political system, but it's where you live. So let's hear how you'd do it?
PS… only if Elons toys and interplanetary occupation don’t involve billions in government money. He can afford it, himself. But he better hurry. His assets are depreciating.

We don’t even know if 1) Carney will be elected - because no he hasn’t been anointed. 2) that he will do a bad job if he gets elected. It won’t be worse than what Elon’s doing. That, I’m confident about. And there was no democratic process whatsoever that preceded the installation of Elon. There was no election. He didn’t run for any position.

Add to this list the technocratic elites who control the flow of data and the algorithms that increasingly govern our lives and that is where we are at IMO.
Explain to me how Carney is a technocrat? Yes, he’s elite, you could say. He’s been a big banker - cause for scrutiny and caution yes, but outright disinformation, no.
In an interview, I heard him say that as a banker he was given, by the UK government, mandates to get them through Brexit and Covid and that’s what he did. The UK public, if they’ve even heard of him, have a generally favourable opinion. I know there were problems that affected marginalized people - that’s where I’d be scrutinizing if he’s elected. And I will because that’s what living in a democracy is about. It’s how I’d be scrutinizing anyone. However, he will be given a mandate, I believe, by Canadians, to protect us from the slash and burn policies taking place in the US. How he handles his position, if elected, will be according to the mandate the public elects him for (and that I will be scrutinizing too, as a member of said public). I don’t have full confidence in anyone - but I think he’ll try to do his best.
