Indoctrinator.
Ford was the only company that didn't need a buy out of the economic crisis.
Aldous Huxley used Ford as a symbol of a soulless mass-production society. For example, time is no longer referred to as "The Year of Our Lord" but "The Year of Our Ford"; and the Christian cross has had its top lopped off and turned into a "T" to remind the reader of Ford's Model T automobile, the first to be produced via the assembly line.

He used a number of aspects of Ford's production methods to illustrate a regimented society that had little respect for the individual: mass production, the assembly line, control of the media, distrust of anyone who was "different" or refused to conform, a narrow and coercive patriotism, etc. When Huxley portrays fetuses in bottles passing down a conveyor belt, he is using Ford's assembly-line methods to ironic effect.

Of all the terrible things that are going on in Ontario, updating the health curriculum from the 1970’s is not one of them.

People panicked over nothing. Grades ones are taught proper names for genitals. Just like they know the name for nose, and bum, and arm, so too they know the name for penis and Vagina. Ooh. How radical and scary

You Jae, as a parent who has never raised a baby to teen hood, really don’t have a handle on how quickly children ask and discover the differences anatomically. And how they see quite obviously , that Susan is not the same race as her parents, and that sally has two dads, and that Tom has only a mom.........

Really, there are a lot of things to worry about. That is not one of them

The sex ed curriculum really isn't a deciding issue in this election. It has only been mentioned a few times that I have seen/heard. The Libs are going down hard because of economic and trust issues, not school curricula.

Oh, and I accidentally reverse sorted the Politics forum. Guess what the oldest thread in Politics is about? Yep, it's @crazyheart asking about the 2014 Ontario election.

Preserve my soul ... is that how it goes?

I'm not sure how you are conflating the current election (per the topic) with my random quote about an American company that didn't take a buyout in the 2008 crisis. Also, the original Ford was quite adamant that his employees make enough to buy his cars. I think that the current conservative leader in Ontario has a) no association that I know of to the original "Ford Motor Co", and b) consistently different ideas regarding the value of human capital.

Ah! human capital ... materials that can be disposed or wasted in wars to get someone rich ... it makes a grand mysterious story!

Like disease or UN-ease ... the questionable part makes tyrants uneasy! Is that like ankh-sous?

Relax it is just another strange word in that alien sea that hides the sol ... sometimes opened to the demons when sneezing ... or prone to attack by tree nymphs ... hamadryads ... as carpenter something to chisel and image from ... artifact of an arti San?

It really doesn't matter as long as it raises a caution and thought in your devoid space ... God-given sapiens ... a spot for psyche that dimension said to not exist ... the domain of anti existentialist ... and thus it was not observed as abstract ... a dark realm!

Should we question and process it? Collectively they are strange ... maybe a bit crazy if you look at the surroundings they created (environmental black-out)! Omahgod is that particularly odd, or sharpened sense? Just to give rise to a point of something needing Karyne ... or stone cairn as icon of recall ...

Is the last one standing upright success, or lacking a network of survival if this lonely person can't carry the simplest chit out for processing ... something for abstract time ... or dark ages' onset?

Tis numbing ... like a goods night's activity ... let it rest ... and whatever it is might listen and see like the aye of a mind ... believeing the song: "Please Release Me"!

Martyr dumb ...

Could one create a mythical bit of literary device from such rambling? Mystic-ism; so clouded ...

Interesting change of tone from the liberals now

Saying they know they won’t win. Kind of but please be careful who you vote for

So “mom” Kathleen still knows best I guess

But, will that make liberal voters, who really can’t stand what the government is doing, but can’t vote for anyone else feel better about voting liberal?

If it does, and that would seem to be the strategy, then they could get in after all. Interesting tactic

What if it is honesty? I like Kathleen Wynne. I know it's just my own judgment, but she doesn't 'feel' duplicitous to me.

I'm NOT voting Liberal, but it's because I don't think that there's any way they will win this (newly created) riding. OTOH, I'm now at least 80% sure that this riding will go PC, so I guess I have to decide which of NDP/Green could possibly take it; I'm leaning NDP, despite seeing way more Green signs and liking the Green candidate a great deal.

Never said it was duplicitous. Said it was insincere. To essentially concede and then use that concession to push for votes is pretty clearly political tactics, not heartfelt sentiment.

I think that even with all the left wing media Ontario is being bombarded with and even with all the efforts to suppress clear thinking and logic, enough people have been red pilled that the province is about to go hard starboard. It will be fun! Captain Doug Sparrow!

What's inter parle ... inside talk? Is it below the white noise?

Does this simulate greater communication ... counter to isolation and denial?

They remain eliminated ... still out there ... extensively traumatized by human behavioural Mr. Steppes ... beginning in Asia Minors ... Semite connection ... mere iconic? Supernatural, or just ... beyond us depending how tis spoken ...

Is governing the whole thing ... like a pity full avarice that depose demo crazies ... as boehemian?

Parallel homo genetics ... homogeneity? Thus everything is the same and bored ... beware of dull auguring ... common cents so all will be impoverished with the exception of the rich and powerful tyrants that are hard to get to ... with fresh information ... alien intellect as they constantly loose it ... Constan Tines gift .. a pain of learning? Tis a prick of conscience or thorny issue to bring reasonable dissonance ... windows of heaven? Still goes round ...

With lost soul ... as Jim Reeves sang ... It's Time to Go ... and they got out ... go way wit yah !

Passions can do that ... cause loss of the thinking organ ... considered insubstantial! Something that isn't ... a metaphor of incarnate ... mental dissonance ... as a fiddling in higher domains? Rufus ...

The most recent poll I've seen comes from Abacus Data -

NDP - 37%
PC - 33%
Liberal - 23%
Green - 5%
Others - 2%

Those numbers fascinate me. I'm surprised the NDP could have a 4 point lead with the Liberals that high. The poll also suggests that about 80% of Liberals prefer an NDP government to a PC government, suggesting that with Wynne having essentially conceded, some Liberals might go to the NDP to stop Ford. Thursday will be very interesting - far more interesting than I thought it would be a couple of months ago - although I'd still give the edge to the PCs in terms of their ability to win seats.

With close numbers like that, distribution is going to be very important. A strong vote in the GTA and 905 area is worth more than a strong vote in Central and Southwestern Ontario due to concentration of seats. As you say, this is turning out more interesting than expected, going right back to the PCs choosing Ford.
