Trying to shift up my patterns.

My go-to breakfast has been toast/bagel or cereal.

I'm trailing other items.

I have type 2 diabetes, so it comes into play in my choices

What is your go-to?

We've been eating hot cereal for the past few months. We alternate between rolled oats, steel cut oats and Red River Cereal. I'll add frozen blueberries or strawberries most times.

I recently picked up Keto granola at Costco- it has minimal sugar in it.
Since going off sugar in February, I managed to bring my A1C from 6.1 to 5.9- just by leaving out all the treats with sugar, except for once a week. It changed my taste buds, too- I find most things now too sweet. I eat oats with berries and yoghurt, flax seeds and pumpkin seeds heated up with milk, most days. My dietitian also gave me a recipe for a bake with eggs, oats, hemp hearts and fruit. I bake a pan and freeze portions. I also switched to lots of cottage cheese for the protein- which is filling.

Am all over the map. This morning I had three pieces of Garlic Naan Bread and a Cafe Latte. On Sundays, driving to church, Yobo and I always have Cereal Bars and Cafe Lattes. I too often have breakfast at a local fast food establishment. And when I'm in a hurry, I just grab a couple of Kicker bars.

A common thing to here in Korea for breakfast is Kimchi and Rice. But I've never been into thst

My son introduced me to protein powder.

I've been adding it to skim milk yoghurt along with fresh berries.
Protein powder can be really helpful - I use it daily now. I like one that is animal protein (due to dairy issues). Some taste yuck/chalky. It dissolves well in warm water & then I add some kefir (well fermented!) to aid my gut. Many seniors, and people who are healing don't get enough protein in even a pretty good diet. When I was in hospital I would keep my pudding from the meal tray and gradually mix the powder into that. Was pretty tasty!

To your original question - I usually have two rice cakes with peanut butter & a bit a jam. And of course coffee!! I'm trying to now start the day with a large glass of tepid water, sometimes with a half lemon added. Before diving into breakfast.

Home baked (in a bread machine) brown bread slathered with peanut butter or cereal with nuts and berries are my two staples.

A small container of yogurt alternates days with a slice of toasted sourdough with a drizzle of ghee and some peanut butter or tahini. Sometimes a couple of pieces of fresh fruit. If the big guy is making breakfast, it is eggs and bacon or sausage, etc.

I've never thought about putting tahini on toast

My almost daily breakfast is a toasted English muffin with cheese, popped into the microwave. Plus yoghurt and fruit. 60 gr carbohydrate including the milk I use in my coffee.

Open sesame takes on a whole different meaning ... meaningful deviation? Imagine things outside the imposed rule ... slick powers?

There may be something behind that comment ... evidently I'd avoid powers as they tend to meanness ... they get too full of themselves ...

Thus room for the humble that are said to amount to what ... nothing ... and there they go ... just like nothing!

Did Ja' see it? Unlikely and improbable ... potentially quant UM! That hummer ... neural functions ... the powers hate the very thought ... we wish not to reflect on that ...

What's considerably mist? That's what's out there ... much of it lost in an odd fog ... as if something ismouldering ... burning words?

My breakfast rarely changes. Cooked oatmeal with added fruit as available. A sprinkle of brown sugar and a little milk. Yum.
My spouse loves oatmeal. I eat it when there is nothing else, or I need that warm sustenance , but, I find the ?slimy? texture offputting.
One of our members got me over my total aversion when we went on a canoe trip together. I enjoyed it then.

The spinach feta egg bites went over quite well.

Going to make some mushroom feta egg bites this morning.

Both sound yummy and I say that as very much not an egg person historically. Omelets and related (like my wife's tomato and egg stir fry) is about my usual limit.
